Maybe a curtain instead of door? Sunlight fades the color of clothes. So I once had a velvet skirt change color because the closet door wouldn't close properly. Also, opposite the mirror, on the side of the cabinet, you could hang cases for jewelry or scarves or bags. In general, the solution you gave is smart. Irine from Greece.

Hanging jewelry/scarves/belts on the other side of the mirror is a really great idea! As far as curtains are concerned, you have to be kind of careful with them. I say that because while you can make it look ok, curtains for space dividers like a closet easily looks a bit ghetto :(

That type of clothing can also be kept in a box, or hanging garment bag.

Love the cubby/vanity idea! I’m a clos-o-holic and my absolute favorite thing to do is edit & organize my closets. My clothes get hung in light to dark color order and in sleeve length order. My closets are also separated by season (I do not mix winter with summer) and coats, hats, scarves & gloves require their own space. I have 6 large clothes closets in my house and all but one has my stuff in it….much to the dismay of my 3 children & husband! I could go on and on about hangers, how things are hung, what types of things are hung vs. what are folded, purse storage, jewelry storage, etc. but your viewers will think I’m a complete lunatic……it’s really not that, it’s the training from the 10 years I spent in the high end retail business. I think you did a really good job with what you had to work with! The example you showed can be applied to a lot of people with similar space. Keep up the nice work!! 🙂

that's actually fascinating that you're that detail-oriented. If it was anything other than a closet, like maybe a research subject, people wouldn't think much of it. Must have a hyperfocused trait in those type of things. Also have you heard about capsule closets?

As a ladybird organise style I would go with a linen curtain opening to the left and extending a bit beyond the space so it can be completely opened. If your client is a butterfly or bee keeping it open with no door or screen would probably suit her well.

A pocket door would be perfect (i have cats that cannot have access!) But i understand that's not feasible here in temp housing. BRILLIANT turning the particle board shelves upside down so you only see the "pretty" er, at least, finished, side!

Very nice! But it seems like those closet systems only work if your shirts or skirts or dresses are all the same length. No long tunic blouses, or long skirts etc.

That’s a military housing house? I lived in a military house and it was AWFUL!! It was probably built in 1930,s or 40’s and falling apart. The floors were the cheapest tile you can buy… like you see in a public restroom. I would have loved to have a place like that!
