We tend to invest more in evening wear than anything else in our wardrobes, but let’s face it - those treasured pieces rarely get an outing. With that in mind, today I’m taking a look back at some of my favourite ways to turn party pieces into everyday staples. Whether it’s swapping a pair of statement earrings for some necklaces, layering a silky slip dress with a jumper, or simply adding a sunhat and unfussy sunglasses, it’s easier than you might think to take your look from disco to daytime…

I love how "something from a market in italy" is also paired with a zara t-shirt, and very fancy trousers for Trinny. Mixing and matching not only vibes but price points. Makes me want to see what I have from markets and travels that I seem to always relegate to "holiday wear" that could be brought out during the day. Hi Trinny. I would love to see something about office dressing in a post-lockdown world. After working from home exclusively for the best part of two years I’ve become a little shy venturing out in what I used to wear (especially my heels which I used to wear every day!) - it feels very foreign now! This isn’t about Zoom calls from home which I know you’ve done previously but rather how do we reintroduce ourselves to the corporate world when wearing a suit and blouse feels like something from eons ago. @racheleard4576 I have a notion that Trinny discussed this very thing in one of her Closet Confessions in 2022. (Or maybe it was a morning tv segment?) Either way, lots of her friends and co-workers were asking this exact same thing. My memory is that she took some of the structured pieces traditionally worn in the workplace, and loosened the rules. Added an evening style top, wore dressy trainers with a pant suit, introduced leather pieces, prints and clashing prints, and maybe some colourful bags and other accessories. No conservative blouses, heels or handbags! Good luck with finding some Trinny inspiration.
