the Uniqlo Heat Tech tops are my go-to! They are super warm, affordable, and great quality, probably the only things in my closet I've purchased new in the last 4 years... I always have a black long sleeve and a black turtleneck on hand and that's what I wear under my itchy sweaters! ALSO that purple and brown set is sooo good, just get some purple fabric that matches and create an elastic ruffle or bow over the back so it's adjustable.

about the itchy wool knitwear, try hand washing it with shampoo and then put some conditioner in, let it sit for a while, rinse and hang dry, it should help it at least a little! its my grandma's trick and it has worked many times

If anyone's vintage sweaters are itchy it's usually from being made of acrylic and having a reaction. It's a shame since usually the most fun 1970s-1990s knits are 100% acrylic. I only thrift full cotton and it's a lot more gentle on skin. But yeah, layering long sleeved shirts under it should keep the itchy material off for those pieces you still want to wear.
