Sharing how to install Ikea's new Boaxel system with this mini closet makeover. All of the shelves, baskets and suspension rails used for this space totaled $160!

the suspension rail screws don't require anchors bc the rail isn't (shouldn't be, at least) bearing any wait at all

I used the Algot sytem a couple years ago. We moved and now I see it has been replaced with the Boaxel. There were a lot more choices with Algot. I was looking for the ventilated shelves but not in this system. Going to look at the Elfa stuff and figure out what to do.

I noticed that as well. I installed an Algot system once and I liked the varying drawer sizes that they offered.

I only have width of 20 inch with the window framing obstructing. Is it possible to hack Boaxel? It's a little too wide!

Hi! I stumbled upon your video and I wanted to ask a very random question (but that would be extremely useful to me 😅): what are the exact dimensions of the wire boxes if you don’t count the rails that keep them anchored to the closet? I wanted to buy them but i’m not sure they’ll fit into my closet (it’s 57 cm), on the ikea website it says these are 40*60 rails included!

I cut those labels out of vinyl using a Silhouette. I would be happy to make a custom order for you - just send me an email at [e-mail] and we can figure out the size, font, color, etc.

Is that top piece that you hang the bars from really necessary? I forgot to purchase it, now I'm wondering if I need to go back 🥲

I have never installed a Boaxel unit without the horizontal bar that runs across the top. You will likely need to go back to pick it up or have it shipped.

Hey, I was wondering what screws and anchors you used, both the length, width and head shape? As far as I’m aware the parts don’t come with any screws. Thank you!

Yes, correct - they do not come with screws. I believe I used 1.25" or 1.5" screws and a 0.25" wide anchor.

I'm sorry, I do not know the dimensions to this space, however, the shelves are 31.5" wide each.

Hahahahah, this vid made me laugh at 3:33. Well - few years ago I saw similar vid about ALGOT system which was replaced by BOAXEL. And now I CAN'T buy algot anymore. Lil' deja vu? It's kind of Apple's business policy Today: It's brand new and it will last. Buy It You wont regret it! Tomorrow: It's obsolete! Buy brand new, it's so much better! KTHXB

The Ikea Boaxel system is horrible. I tried it in one closet. It is a nightmare. extremely difficult to install. And the pieced don't fit together well at all. I have been working on it for WEEKS and still don't have it finished. I just tried to put a shelf up with a clothing rod. I had the rod up for about 10 days. Spent 15 minutes struggling to line the shelf up to fit into the brackets. One metal piece fell off of a shelf. So I got another shelf. Trying to line that one up to fit into the brackets, it knocked a bracket out causing one end of cloths rod to fall and bending the attachment of the clothing rod on the other end. This video must be highly edited to make it look like this system is easy to install. It's not.
