Teaching people how to say no, and set boundaries is very important. However, it's just as important for people to ask yes; it's a brief question. Just say; is this okay. If a person doesn't say yes while looking you in the eyes, consider it a no. And that's okay.

Absolutely on point. Violation of consent is less due to "lack of communication", and more due to a "sense of entitlement". If it's not a yes, then it's a no by default. We really need to understand this and stop dissmissing the issue of intimate violence, which is so serious and traumatic as a "misunderstanding".

communication is just not about words being spoken its a path which we choose to convey our feelings to our partners which sometimes isn't properly done and their are various factors which affects efficiency. So , I feel sense of entitlement is a case where communication is not taken into consideration but where communication (equality) is on priority, lack of communication plays a very important role and it is not the thing to be blamed, it is a thing which should be considered to solve, bcoz it's not necessary that everyone have a good communication skill.

Guys in case of assault or abuse within a relationship, it's not just that women (or anyone whose boundaries are broken) feel that they are helpless, powerless and that their feelings don't matter, it's more of the trauma it gives you. The trauma that said person could be so different from what you perceived them to be, from what you loved them for, that they didn't care enough, you start questioning their whole personality and if this relationship was just in your head. Most importantly if it will happen again, and if they could change for worse.

Sex education in India is so fucked up that you don’t even know that you’re supposed to say no when you don’t want to do it. Me being a people pleasing person myself wanted him to like me. Consent is a very important requisite and so as communication. I guess this video has well depicted the lack of proper communication in their relationship... Sometimes, some people are a bit lacking in comprehending nonverbal cues of communication and at that point the other person must come verbal and discuss the issues together.... The guy didn't looked forceful or entitled, he was processing the information in a different way than what the girl wanted him to.... I guess if they would have had communicated better about it then they could have had something wonderful.... In order to be in an egalitarian perspective, we must understand that not being able to say 'No' and not being able to understand non verbal cues of 'No' are both Imperfections and must be embraced with care and concern and must be worked on... In a nutshell, a good attempt with some reductionistic flaws.

To anyone who relates to this video. Learn to say no and improve your communication skills. It's going to be uncomfortable but it's going to be worth it. If you can't say no, learn the art of saying no, it's possible, I've done it. It's no one else's responsibility, it's yours. In this particular video, it seems like all of this could've been sorted with clear communication, you shouldn't expect others to accomodate. It's no one else's responsibility to understand your indirect cues, if someone isn't able to understand it and you know this person doesn't have any intention to hurt you, you must come clear and talk things through yes it's going to be uncomfortable and unpleasant but that's the price you have to pay for a better relationship. Please don't expect others to accomodate for you, you have to develop a spine and stand up for yourself that is the best long term solution to this problem.

Instead of commenting people should start discussing things together and its not one sided. There are people including me whose mind gets blown and fucked up, just to understand the best possible solution, which won't be because nothing is perfect. There are various people with different attitudes and liking. Even during sex, different people feel different and different positions. So its really very difficult. And these things can go smoothly only and only people start discussing together to understand each other. I personally and logically didn't like the video but i learnt something from it. And obviously it has nothing to do with gender. Male and female both are the two front wheels of a car equal in positions but with different tracks. This movie is not at all relatable for me because I haven't been with anyone till now. I don't know why but I somehow empathise with the guy. Probably he is raised with no touch, no interaction with girls at all and then became a playboy following the popular date tricks and stuff like that. Since, I have no relationship experience till now, I can still imagine myself in the guys place being so much craving for touch/intimacy that the physicality of that love is equal to crossing the boundary. However, I think/hope that things will be different when I will actually be in a relationship because I think I am in general an empathetic person. Though I crave for human touch, intimacy but I am not sure if one is entitled to it in a relationship, I guess I will find out. Probably, my empathy for my partner will save me from being that guy. One more thing I think is that they both probably fell for the charisma and looks of each other. probably this is what leads people to push their boundaries to maintain the relationships for longer instead of simply saying no. Please make a movie with ugly protagonists like me. Also, I haven't said anything from the girl's perspective because It will be pretense and most likely dishonest.(So, "my other half" stage is yours, leave a reply. XD)

Consent is important and we all know it. But over dramatisation of consent is dangerous. Between a couple there will be times where a lot of things happens which are not appropriate but still they should figure out if they want to live together. The woman character in this short film is shown like she is depressed like she got r**ped but all she have to do is say "no" if she is not interested. Sometimes people(Men in this sitaution) might miss little signals when she is not interested and could proceed and its her responsibility to say "no" and end it.
