I did this in college 😭 I lived in a townhouse where the basement (where I lived) was always freezing and the upstairs was always really hot. We had one thermostat, and my roommates upstairs refused to crank it up because of how hot it already was on their level. I spent many hours studying by my dryer, but in a way it was really relaxing. :)

Oh my gosh. I can’t believe the perfect sound. 40+ years ago I’d put damp towels in the dryer and turn it on to help me get to sleep. My bedroom was in the basement under the kitchen. I’d wrap my foot around the pipe from the kitchen sink because it was warm and read “Cherry Ames, Nurse” books until the dryer put me to sleep. Thank you for this one! It’s exactly right. 💙💚

As a child I used to lie in front of the tumble dryer on a sheepskin, just where the hot air would blow out from the vents. The rumble vibrated through the floor and it was all incredibly comforting. I love that to this day. And maybe that's why I seem to be able to sleep regardless of noise, which I'm glad about! Thanks for this lovely video.

Im still a kid theoretically because I’m 13 but I’m too old to fall asleep next to a washing machine. When I’m stressed and feel like relapsing or going into an anxiety attack or when I just ran home from school because people were bullying me I run into the kitchen and fall asleep next to my washing machine. My mum used to let me sit in the kitchen whilst she was doing jobs around the house as a young kid. The only problem is i don’t like sitting in my kitchen anymore because my cat died and the kitchen was basically one of the rooms she claimed, she died in her sleep in the corner of my kitchen by the washing machine. I dont normally deal with noise to much especially at night when I'm trying to sleep and I hate ticking clocks but I have this on low with the brightness dimmed volume reasonably low a d I slowly drift of to sleep I'm a bit like that Faithless tune I gets no sleep I'm an insomniac II also have Autism I dont know if I should mention here but I also use other pieces of music and or sounds ie sounds of a motorway or highway listening to a camp fire or listening to trains going over the tracks quite comforting

Since I was a kid i've always liked white noises, like dryers, blow dryers, fans and different types of heaters. I remember when I was maybe 4 to 6 years old, I would squeeze my little skinny body in between the dryer and fridge while my folks were washing clothes. I would lean my head and the rest of my body on the dryer when it was cold in the house. The heat and sound would comfort me so much. It was such a great feeling. Now i'm 31 and not so skinny. I can't do it now but I use a blow dryer for sure.
