Girl, listen. Your emotions are valid. Balance is hard to achieve but the journey makes the difference. Accept the bad days as they come. Feel whatever is being thrown at you without wanting to escape. We think escaping the negativity will make it go away, but that doesn't happen. How exactly can I say that? I've been in therapy for a year and as an OCD-Type A girl, it's helped me find balance. So breathe. You're doing great, sweetie, and I'm glad you made a video as raw as this.

feeling like you don't deserve to feel sad is SO relatable for me. My therapist helps me with this by reminding me that it's understandable for me to having random strong feelings sometimes and that I am going through a tough time. I think also learning how to talk to yourself like you talk to a friend when they are feeling and expressing the things you feel is very helpful. Like when I'm feeling anxious for really dumb reasons i say to myself "I get why you feel this way, you've learned to feel this way and it's hard to unlearn. Right now this stress isn't doing anything good for you, there's nothing you can do to fix the thing stressing you so let's try to calm down a bit"

Jenn, I love your vlogs!! I can get the same way with streaks, but now I try to be gentle with myself. I went to a Vipassana silent meditation course and it was one of the most valuable experiences I've ever had. It was extremely scary and frustrating at times to be alone with my thoughts for 10 days, but I feel like I came out with the tools I need to deal with anything. The best part -- you learn that you have that within yourself. I was never one to see the value in meditation, and now I meditate daily. I don't use an app or any sort of guided meditation -- instead, I meditate in silence. I track my daily meditation so I still have access to a streak in some sense, but I use my tracking more as a tool so I don't forget my daily practice. I don't pay attention to the streak itself, and if I miss a day, I forgive myself. I feel the same existential crisis at around the same time every month -- lots of hormonal stuff -- so I totally relate. Meditation helps so much with that! x

I feel you, Jenn. It happened to me a lot in my early twenties as well and that’s when I said to myself that I needed to start a new hobby to get me busy and feel accomplished again. I started trail running and so far it has worked for me because I can see how my body is changing and my resistance is improving!! Last Sunday I climbed an almost 3 km high mountain in less than 1:30!!! It made me feel so motivated and now I’d like to improve that mark. I suggest you do the same with yourself. Find a gap in your agenda to start doing something you’ve never done before, you might surprise yourself!! Keep it up!! You’re beautiful and capable of so many things.

Jenn, I've been following you for YEARS now and it feels like I've grown up with you (I think I started watching you when you were still in college so I was probably 13-15 years old?) And for you to open up and be so vulnerable and just RANT weirdly gives me this comfort and reassurance. A lot of what you're experiencing/experience is just WAY TOO SIMILAR TO MINE like damn it's almost scary bc all the things you rant about, I rant about too. It just feels nice because it makes me feel like I'm not as alone in these problems as I thought and I truly appreciate that. Even with PMSing it's scary how similar we are! Regardless, your emotions and feelings are just as valid as anyone else's. There isn't a scale on who """deserves""" to feel a certain way because in the end that's just how it is. Idk. I'm rambling. Love you lots Jenn!!!

Hey Jenn, Light and Dark, when we embrace the reality everything becomes easier. We are human and we need to embrace our humanity if we are actually going to be happy. We both are extremely similar in our cycles of emotions and mindset so I understand the internal turmoil that can happen. This is why we need those special people that we can be vulnerable with 😊 p.s. I am 5ft 1 too and have to get most things hemmed too lol

Something that I've learned through dealing with anxiety and depression is to always check in with yourself and making sure that you are happy first and foremost. Also, making sure to look at the things in your life that are making you unhappy and cutting them out. Finally, never say that you shouldn't feel certain emotions, because you feel them for a reason and that reason doesn't have to always be justified. Mental health is a tough thing to deal with, especially nowadays. You got this girl, try to think about three positive things everyday before you go to bed, keep your head up xx

Oh babe, it's totally okay to feel sad even though you have all those amazing things in your life. As someone who has grown up poor and didn't always know where I would be living, I used to get annoyed whenever famous/wealthy people would talk about being sad or depressed. But as I've gone through my own spiritual journey I realized two things. 1. Mental illness/depression/anxiety shit like that, it doesn't know and doesn't care about how much money you have. & 2. Everyone is on their own journey in life and we all have different challenges we have to face, so we should never compare our journey to someone else's. You have your own unique path you're walking down with your own unique obstacles, all designed to make you a better person. Don't look over at another person's path and compare, they have their own journey they're going through. You're good, girl! Let yourself feel what you gotta feel :)

One of the best books I've read was Man's search for meaning by Viktor frankl and it essentially helps explain how to find peace and contentment in suffering. Sometimes it seems like you have everything but you might still not understand what your purpose in life is and that causes a lot of distress. the issue with apps like headspace is that they are more reward motivated versus meditating in a proper method that helps you really reach the desired goal and you're paying for it so you feel really bad when you don't get that reward which is actually nothing. Sometimes we feel like we have to succeed at everything at once but we need to step back and see the bigger picture and realize we're doing just fine. You need to forgive yourself for the little things that you struggle with because you might always struggle with them and that's okay.

To be very honest, i loved that you decided to show us the car rant (not that i enjoy you being unhappy of course) because it really shows us that despite everything you seen on social media being so perfect and happy, we are all human at the end of the day and that we all have our off days. I know its probably not healthy for me to feel better just by relating to what she was saying that i have a perfectly good life with nothing majorly negative happening and yet i still dont feel a sense of happiness of fulfilment. But if anything it's just nice knowing im not the only one feeling this way and not many people share these thoughts so publicly, so it was really nice to watch.

I was so mad I stopped meditating for a good while. Another time, my streak mysteriously reset even though I'd been consistently meditating and I emailed them to give it back to me... AND THEY DID 😂 I hope you find your way back into it when you're ready ❤️ Thanks for being so relatable and vulnerable in this vlog 🥰

Thankful for your vulnerability because I feel so many of us have and are going through these same things. My only advice of something that really helped me was being intentional with meditating.. reaching out to a higher being with it, without that it's only an introspective experience and you will not experience real change. Mediation comes from focusing on our inward, spiritual self. And that self is only supported when it's supported from the one that gave it to us and being in alignment with it. You need to really want and ask for it to reveal to yourself the real truth that is out there, I won't say who will reach out, although I do believe in One, only that He will answer if you ask and maybe then you can enlighten us all. My thoughts and prayers are with you girl! We've all gone through this search.

I have episodes of existential crisis or pms outbursts or whatever but i struggle to explain myself or my situation and just sort of sit there broiling in my rotten emotions. I also have that issue where my emotions feels extreme and wish i could turn it down a notch. Comparing myself to others, i feel abnormal and even diagnosed myself with BPD 😂lol

Hi Jenn!! I just wanted to pass on this tidbit for you- I work in Mental Health and I have patients tell me all the time how they don't feel like they have a right to feel anxiety or depression. What I tell them is this...if someone breaks a leg, it doesn't matter what events caused them to break the leg, it all hurts the same way. And the same goes with mental health! It doesn't matter what has led you to feel the way you do- you still feel it, and you're still going through it, and so no matter what it is valid. Sending love!

It's really hard to accept that we are emotional human beings that have the right to feel this way, regardless of your situation. If you feel a certain way, you shouldn't feel guilty to feel it. It's hard for me as well and something I'm actively working on. 😭

What helps me with apps when they have streaks is to remember that the only reason there are streaks is to help us develop a habit that we don’t already have. Don’t be too hard on yourself when you miss one day, we are human and streaks are not that important, I understand if you love the feeling of having every streak accomplished to me it’s like an OCD thing but remember the habit is what is more important not the streak :)

This was great. I feel this every month! I feel this right now. And it’s annoying because I’ll go through it for a couple weeks a month then it goes away and I’m in top again! Then I get down again around that time of the month. Never fails. I hope a year later you have figured out how to get through this better, if you have any tips on how to get through the existential spiritual monthly nonsense please make a video!! I haven’t figured it out yet.

Try giving something that makes you happy to a community you believe in, I don’t know if you do or if you don’t, but some of the happiest moments of my life have been doing things for other people, inside and outside of my family and friends.
