I am having the same problem as some of the people below...my stitch count is 2 more than what you or the pattern states. So I just decreased two stitches But then in the next row I'd do I'd wind up with 2 extra stitches. So I'm glad to know that I am not the only one having trouble with their stitch count! I just kept either working two extra stitches or decreasing two stitches.

Thank you, Dorianna, for posting this video and making the pattern available for free. I'm about to begin a pair for a friend but I always make a practice pair first...added bonus is I get a pair too, lol. I only did a couple of things a little different from your original patt. #1, I placed a st marker in the top of the first st of each rnd just to make it easier to find when it came time to end the rnd w/the SS. #2, since I didn't see any instructions in the video nor the written pattern for how to end the size Small boot at Rnd 9, I tried this rnd w/the dc (as you have written) but found I preferred doing 1 hdc in each st arnd for an ankle-high boot. Since I turned your boot into a slipper, it needed a way to help it stay on my foot so, for added security, I worked those hdc arnd a black 10¾-inch-arnd “clasp-free elastic” made for super long & thick hair, made by Basic Solutions which I believe I bought at Walmart. As I expected, the ponytail thingies worked like a charm!! I often use them in ankle-high slippers and even inside cuffs of sweaters, etc. since you can get them in different sizes. Anyway, now that I've finished the prototype (and they are sooo comfy & warm!), I'm now going to make my friends'. BTW, she requested these specifically and sent me the Pinterest link. When I'm finished with her's, I'm going to experiment with lighter wt yarn and smaller hooks to see if this patt will work for making these for kids & babies too. Oh, and to finish off the instructions at the Rnd 9 level, simply join w/a SS in the first st made, then bind off and weave in the end. If anyone else needs help, please feel free to message me and I'll do what I can to lend a hand, leaving you free to create more of these amazing patterns. I've made a few YT videos myself so I know how time consuming they can be...makes me appreciate artists, such as yourself, that much more. So, once again, THANK YOU!!

Thank you for the pattern & tutorial! I have made the size medium & given them to my daughter. She loves them. Now I am making the size large to give to a friend as a surprise. Pattern is very well written. At the end of each row it says to slip stitch into the first sc or the first dc. I actually slip stitched into the chain 1 or ch 2 . Pattern always turned out with the right numbers at the end of the row.

On the written pattern its listed as follows. Small = 5 - 6.5 Medium = 7 - 8.5 Large - 9 - 10.5 I am a size 7 and when i used the Bernat blanket yarn and size N hook as suggested on the pattern the size small was too big for me. But everyone crochets a tad bit differently. I must crochet loose as most of my projects i end up wishing i used a smaller hook.

Hi Guys - been crocheting over 50 years and the Large pattern is definitely incorrect - had no problems with stitch count until hit row 6 on 9mm hook as advised - slipper fits a Man size 12-13 - not a ladies 9-10.5. I have redone this 3 times from scratch and the result is always the same 9 stitches more than stated at the end of the row. The sole and shaping is excellentt hough - so the pattern must be the orignal before testing and has not been updated - there may be an updated pattern - but this is not it. Yes I have gone over the video several times too, and the process IS different from the pattern. so will work out the math for the medium and Large after I make the small. Yes a great looking pattern and tutorial!
@docgregg25 жыл бұрын
Jade Campbell I am having the same issue. I need ladies size medium. I followed along with both written pattern and the video. I keep looking at my slipper and it definitely is terribly oversized. It fits my husband who is size 13! I have worked it and taken it apart 2 times. I am so irritated I could spit. I checked all of the comments and the author has not replied to 1 of them. I can’t figure out how some people ended up with correct slippers. I used Bernat Blanket yarn and a size 9.0 (M) hook. I purchased $52 of this yarn and I feel it works up differently than her yarn. Hers looks like Lion Brand Thick & Quick. Did you ever get the pattern to work for you? If so, would you mind sharing your info with me? Thank you.

I’ve been making these slippers for the past five years or so, the stitch count is always off, I end up either adding or taking away stitches to make it come out right and it looks like she goes into the same stitch for her first stitch of a row as her slip stitch. Very difficult to follow without fudging with the stitches overall. 😕😕😕😕😕
@chrismurphy6034 Жыл бұрын
@donnajone6353 I thought is was me! Starting with round 5; the stitch count is not right. It’s the same with her Cowboy Slippers pattern. I was going to buy it but I’m worried rheumatologist count would be the same and off. I’m struggling. Did you figure out the correct stitch count? I would love for you to share if so.

How many skeins of Bernat Blanket does this require?
@donnalucier39295 жыл бұрын
I got to round 5 without any problems, have the required 50 stitches. Now I’m supposed to sc 16 for large size then sc2tog 6 times then sc16 , mine doesn’t come out right if I do it this way. But if I sc 19 then sc2tog 6 times then sc 19 I get the 44 sc required. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be awesome

I just finished making one slipper and it seems way to wise and a bit too big all over. I used an L hook and Bernat baby blanket yarn and followed directions for the small size. Any suggestions how I can make this smaller? Should I go down another hook size?
@JazzyJude5 жыл бұрын
FANTASTIC tutorial. Now my Boyd hook ‘N’ says it’s a 10mm, not a 9mm you mentioned in the video. Will there be a difference in size or just an error on your part?
@stephanieolson50455 жыл бұрын
I have 2 N hooks - a copper colored one like she is using that is labeled N-9.00mm and a gold one labeled N/15-10.00mm. The copper one when measured in a gauge checking tool I have is really only 8.00mm.
@victormccraw18676 жыл бұрын
That will teach me not to read comments before attempting a project. The stitch count is incorrect (at least for medium), and the slip stitch is ambiguous. It looks like she is going into the space and not the stitch to begin, then the remaining stitch count each round is off by one. The slipper comes out skewed to one side (with blanket yarn) every time; 4 attempts. Has anyone solved this issue?
@christinepoole55883 жыл бұрын
l believe the counts are off my attempts alot more than 4 . l used the sole here and drew it out split the stitches in half made my own upper part of the slipper,l'm so thankful of the time spent making these tutorials but grrr

Havent been able to get this at all. Missing instructions on rows and no row count. These were so cute and wanted to try but have wasted too much time trying to figure out pattern.
@ericbrower6114 жыл бұрын
This is why it's important to have stitch markers and a row counter. Each row, I put a stitch marker on the first stitch done, to keep track of where, in the round I need to end. Then I read through the instructions for the row. If it says something like "SC 8 stitches", I count off 8 stitches. Then mark the 9th stitch as the start of the next set of instructions for the row. Continuing this way, until all the stitches have been marked, or accounted for. It only takes a minute. And you don't have to worry about losing your stitch count. And the row counter of course, is for keeping track of when the instructions call for the repeating of multiple rows.
@Linda986714 жыл бұрын
Eric Brower Wow... thank you... I LOVE to crochet and rarely does it turn out nice.. if I make one sock or slipper the second one is completely different.. I NEED to count and mark like you suggested... thank you again.

ok so I'm making the medium size. I've followed the pattern exactly as you've told it, and yet for both slippers now at the 6:17 mark (approximately), when you say "in the two remaining stitches", I've had 4 remaining in the row BOTH TIMES and I have no idea how!! For the first slipper I improvised my way past having the extra stitches and the end product turned out fine... I'd assumed that I must've missed something early on. But now for the second slipper, following each step EXACTLY, I have the exact same problem! I'm so confused! :(
