Apologies for the delay, I’ll be probably uploading it to gamejoilt or make its own website for it like bloodborne psx. Also no not messing with the actual game files. I’m trying my best to recreate a lot in blender right now. I’m still new to this but I’ve always wanted a remaster/remake of this game with updated combat and actually good boss fights. I have a lot of ambition with this so I’m not stopping until I’m confident with it fully. Which might be a while. But this is a passion project feel the community deserves. I’ll keep everyone posted

i got into berserk back in 2001 when i randomly picked up sword of berserk for dreamcast. i fucking loved that game and played it over and over again. it gets even more fun when you unlock unlimited ammo. then i seen the anime. i own the ps2 one but haven't been able to play it yet. the newest one is fun if you love berserk.

The first and second game are a sequel to one another by the way. Would love to see a fan project that fullly translate both games, and merge/remaster them both into one experience. I saw a video essay abt how this game is the best *adaptation* of Berserk ever. So this fan-remake would be a great way to get people into Berserk.

You missed the best one: Revenge of the berserk: rebirth from mount and blade warband, it follows the story of guts from a child to the point where you can defeat falconia. It is a mod but it is like a full game, there is a lot to do.

@@Patrick-bn5rp PC, the game is Mount and blade: Warband. The mod is called Revenge of the berserk: Rebirth. Is not so heavy, so the pc requirements are minimum. I downloaded the mod from moddb, although there is a Steam version as well.

you had the berserk from ps2 bad configured my dude, see, if you use the ps2 emulator graphic config with the hardware versions of your drivers instead of the software version you cannot see the hud, you probably didn't know but you had a heal from puck and 4 secondary ways to attack including the cannon in your hand (I would like a video about this berserk, is the best of the 3 in my opinion)

Dragon's Dogma 1, best Berserk game, you can literally choose to play as Guts from one of the character presets, and the game has armor and weapons from Berserk as well as many look a likes and dont forget that mods exist to max that greatsword playthrough...

Note for anyone playing the 2nd. If emulating it, change the settings to software emulation instead of hardware. Yes the game runs a little worse. But UI elements wont show at all. That includes cutscene subtitles. That's why in in video here, there is no health bar or subtitles. Even when he's playing the fully translated version. Ideally, you should play this on original hardware. But I know this isnt an option for everyone

I played sword of the berserk long ago when I was young, before I even knew anything about it this world. It was very hard for me and the save system was foreign to me as I would get “far,” die and start all the way from the beginning. I thought there was something I was doing wrong. I just didn’t have it in me to keep trying so I stopped playing it and never went back to it. If anything I’ll just watch a KZbin playthrough to see what happens.

Guts rage was originally called chapter of the oblivion flower in japan. It's Canon in lore. It was also NA first piece of berserk media. It also spoiled Griffiths return before it happened in the Manga.

*highly recommend seeing the Guts from berserk mod for Devil May Cry 5, along with many other character model mods.* soul calibers a game he belongs in as well. Souls like game for Berserk won't do Berserk any justice. Souls game have their own philosophy with inspiration drawn from Berserk but source material is Berserk not souls. So it wouldn't make much sense but a game with DMC and Sekiro mash up combat would be great for something worthy of slapping Berserk name on it.

I agree, the ps2 game is the best one. The weight of Dragonslayer, the unwavering amount of enemies, the sound design. EVERYTHING! It shocks me that it was a ps2 game it honestly looks better than most ps2 games. I played through it on hard on my steamdeck and I never thought it would feel as good as it does. Honestly the snow boss in the very beginning is beyond frustrating but if you can beat it then you can beat literally anything else.

I’d absolutely love Koei Techmo’s Berserk game. I haven’t played it yet but I will get around to doing so because I grew up with Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors and it got me into history and absolutely loved those games and it’s what I loved about the original god of war series it felt like I was playing through dynasty warriors as Lu Bu just destroying every enemy it was epic and Kratos became my favorite game character of all time and I got into mythologies the more I kept with series. I played the Doom games but never played devil may cry, I should play devil may cry though but Dante is a really cool video game character and guts really feels like both. He kinda looks like Doomslayer, kills demons and is brutal like Doomslayer but he also kills demons like Dante, the berserk armor is like the armor of sparda, and Dante has a big sword that can fight at really crazy speeds and that’s what guts does, AND HE HAS A RAGE ABILITY IN THIS GAME!!! Perfect for me but I do think they can still improve a lot or maybe a different company will produce an even bigger Berserk game. Guts feels like the God of War of Anime or atleast Doomslayer and Dante a mix between the two.

I definitely disagree about the first game looking better than the 2016 anime. That series is a 10/10 for me, and I will never understand the hate that it gets. I think the CGI looks really cool with the hashing shading style, and I just don't get why everyone says it looks bad.

Band of the Hawk is better on harder difficulty. The base difficulty is a button masher....harder levels actually require some resource mgmt and blocking and dodging. When i played thru on normal, i don't even think i used a consumable or side weapon the whole playthrough.

I clicked on this video to see if there is any *good* berserk games. hope it won't be like it is with bleach, here in the west, we have access to one title. which is a mobile title. it ain't bad, I'm forced to playing it since there's virtually no other bleach game but I'd prefer a PC game. Edit: So after watching this video, I have come to the conclusion that the most recent game was the semi-final nail in the coffin for the series since there weren't enough regular games and it lost its identity with the last installment.
