Cloudburst is a natural weather event that causes many associated disasters. The occurrence of cloudburst is frequent in recent time periods especially in the Kerala Floods, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh floods etc. This video explains the concept of cloudburst also known as Meghavispodanam in Malayalam. "Landslides" is a collective term which have many types based of velocity and materials including earth flow, debris flow, earth slide, mud-slide, rock fall, creep and so on. Earth flow is considered as a type of landslide. Besides, extensive studies conducted by National Centre for Earth Science Studies (NCESS) and other scientist reveals that Kerala experices different types of landslides among them "debris flow" is the common type. Instead of earth flow, debris flow is more suitable term for "Urul pottal" ( refer History of landslide susceptibility and a chorology of landslide-prone areas in the Western Ghats of Kerala, India by Sekhar L Kuriakose). Debris flow is one of the most disastrous type of landslide filled with soil-mud, trees, larger boulders and so on) Thank you for effort to socialise the topic. Well explained
