God spoke to me today. My fingers open the bible and there it was. Heaven Revelation inside pages. Oh and it was audible as my voice spoke the Word. That's right, God only speaks thru authority of scripture.

I agree with 95% of what Justin preaches. And he is absolutley right about the NAR, and WOF movements. However, he seems to be saying miracles, and healings cannot take place. They absolutely can. Either way, I appreciated this series. Very eye opening. What had me thinking the most is my Bible preching church does play the contemporary music from Bethel, Elevation, and Hillsong, and hardly any Hymnals....starting to bother me.

So are you saying that God does not speak to us?? I don’t have it happen much but I was healed miraculously from stage 3 cancer. I had 2 surgeries and after healing from my last one I began 12 months of chemo I began my high dose for the first month and I couldn’t make it I ended up I ICU. My dr decided to stop the high dose all together and put me on the low dose I then went for about a month and a half and finally 1 day I decided to go into a room by myself for the whole day I had not been taking or praying or reading my Bible nor watching any one on TV. I told God I can’t do this anymore I had no quality of life and that I don’t want this treatment because I couldn’t even talk to anyone in my family I couldn’t eat. God knew exactly what was going on with me. I went to bed that night feeling like God did not answer me. So the next morning I went in for my treatment and I was in the room and my dr came in and sat down at the computer I hadn’t said anything and she shut the computer lid. And came over to me took both of my hands and said that I want to let you know that if you want to discontinue your treatments you have my blessing and that I will continue to be your dr and watch you. I knew right then that God absolutely spoke to me through my oncologist. I stopped treatments that day and went through a few more months of sickness. And that was 8 years ago. And I know that it was God healing me. I didn’t even make it through half of my treatments. I praise Him for my healing!!!!

I have a question. In the summer of 2022, I was teaching from the book of Galatians with 3 other guys in my churches adult Sunday school. As I was preparing for the lesson, I went off on a tangent about the prohibition against mixed fabrics. As I was teaching the lesson, someone brought up the prohibition of mixed fabric, calling into question why would God prohibit mixed fabrics. I was prepared to answer the question because of the tangent I went on preparing for the lesson. I'm convinced that was the Holy Spirit speaking to me. If it wasn't, what was it?

So this would be illumination and is the way the Holt spirit works within us/with us to help us understand scripture. God prepares us for the work He wants us to do. There is definitely confusion regarding the ways God speaks to us. I don't entirely agree with this message , God does speak to us in many ways (the word, experience, other people) but He does not give us new revelation of him beyond the word, whenever someone claims to have new revelation they are at best deluded and at worst nefarious. Extrabiblical revelation has been the foundation of all the cults we still see today. The sheep know the shepherds voice , often certain scriptures will pop into my brain at a certain time, i consider that God speaking to me. The word is a living breathing thing when we read it in partnership with the holy spirit.

I don't agree with Justin tht the Lord our God doesn't speak to us. I believe He speaks to us through our thoughts, our feelings, and through other people. Of course, you have to be very discerning of these thoughts and feelings so you're careful that they're not coming from yourself. But, I 100% believe our Father speaks to us. I lost my son not even a year ago and I prayed for peace and that He will help me get through it. I got so close to the Lord after my sons passing. He answered my prayers! He's blessed me with the kind of peace that only our Father in Heaven could provide and He's certainly helping me get through this difficult time. But, if like Justin says, the Lord only speaks to us through the Bible then how is the Lord giving me this Heavenly peace right at this time in my life? And how am I holding up so well?? I thought, in the beginning, that I wasn't going to be able to go on but the Lord has made me strong! He's "getting me through it", which is exactly what I prayed for. I've been following Justin for a couple of years now and it makes me sad that he believes tht God doesn't speak to us personally, & it's through the Bible we are meant to find comfort, direction, guidance, peace, healing, and so many more, PERSONAL answers. I know tht we do find all of those things in the Bible, but I'm talking abt on a personal basis.

But the issue isn’t whether God answers prayer, gives comfort, gives peace, etc. No one denies God working in our lives. The issue was whether He speaks precise words we hear either in our minds or with our ears. Like that fellow saying God gave him the exact username of an audience member, complete with the numbers at the end, and the name of road he lived on. Or Stanley saying God told him name of the specific grocery store to drive to. I’m skeptical to say the least.

So God can’t talk to anyone in real time according to Justin but many have heard him for direction in all kinds of ways and then they did what He said or went where He said to go many people were saved. Justin would say if they heard something it was the devil, but the devil isn’t in the business of making believers in Christ. I know of one minister who is now passed on who heard God say ‘go to Manila’. He really didn’t want to but he obeyed. A radical deliverance of a possessed girl happened and a national revival with a church that is still going over 70 years later. So where did God say ‘go to Manila’ in the Bible for this person?

Sorry, but no! I disagree! Jesus said, that his sheeps do hear his voice. And I experienced that. Not always, but several times. And Jesus challenged me with good questions. I know, that there are many false Prophets and strange things happening in the charismatic movement, but that doesn't mean, that God doesn't speak anymore outside the Bible. God speaks through his word and also with a small voice. Many years ago, on one Sunday I prayed and asked God, how to convince my catholic Father, that Mary is not the "Queen of Heaven" and so on.....After a few hours I heard inside my head a little Voice. This Voice told me, that I should open the Bible...and read: Jeremiah 44!... I had no clue, what there was.... but I read this Chapter ....about God's Judgement upon Israel... why his Judgement? Israel worshipped a Goddess, called the "Queen of Heaven".... And I immediately understood... the Parallel... Mary is also called the "Queen of Heaven" by the Catholic Church.... and this is absolutely unbiblical! God hates the "Queen of Heaven"! There is no "Queen of Heaven"! And now I challenge you to answer... Was this Voice inside my head, that pointed me to Jeremiah 44, not from God?

Those people are nuts, yest I just can't agree with everything Justin is saying. Im from South Africa, and we do missionary work in the Kalahari. When we pray for people, many people asked us to pray for healing. Of course they didn't need to "sow a seed" of faith. We would just pray for them. Some didn't get healed, but I have seen with my own eyes people getting healed. We did not claim we could heal anybody - but God did work miracles. The one that stands out to me was the lady who got healed of blindness in her one eye. So I firmly believe that miracles still takes place more often than we think

Justin is a man of God, he is trying to defend the truth. And yet, he is aligned with Reformed Theology. There are issues I can't agree upon in their theological system primarily the Calvinistic influence. I could be wrong, he could be wrong but I know God is right. Reformed Theology contends certain gifts have ceased. I just don't see this in scripture and there are testimonies like yours that go against this cessationist doctrine. Now, it could be that in prosperous western nations manifestations are very rare because of the sad spiritual condition the western church is in. Justin is exposing a real problem. Its kind of like the Pharisees during Christs earthly ministry, yes, their theological system was very faulty, BUT, after the ressurection, their eyes were opened and they followed Jesus. Justin is not trying to profit from a ministry, but those he is exposing are making money hand over fist. So yes, I am aware of issues in the Reformed camp, but if I had only two choices of who I would listen to, the Crazematics or the Reformed...I will choose Jesus...for He is the Word.

If you listen carefully, you can clearly see his Calvinistic influence. So what are we dealing with? Read, study Luke 13:18-21. Most commentators get these parables of the Kingdom wrong. In essence, Jesus is saying through these two parables that before His 2nd coming all knowledge of the true God will be fragmented, some branches demonic and fill with leaven, that inside AND outside the "Church". That is exactly where we are at in our time. Even the best, most accurate sincerely motivated bible teacher has some sort of skewed view. Just like His first coming, when that day gets real close and comes, those whose heart is right will see very clear. God wants us to listen to His Son and discern and test ALL teachers...even Justin.

You really think God would say that? God literally woke my wife up, and said, "Come outside. I want to show you something." She woke up, got bundled up (super freezing night in northern New York State), and went outside, to see the most amazing display of the northern lights one could ever hope to see. She went in, and called a friend to tell them, but they were not interested. She went back out and worshipped! That is one example of how God does, in fact, talk to His people today. That was not revelation or illumination. Call it RELATIONAL communication if you want. That would be a really good word for it, come to think of it. Judge this one, and I'll tell ya another, if you like.

Yes, the Bible is God breathed and is authoritative but it is not God! It's a collection of letters for His redeemed children. God is sovereign and may choose to speak to some hungry sheep through the Holy Spirit, the most forgotten third person of the Godhead. From the bible, Jesus taught a lot about the coming of the Holy Spirit and clearly instructed his disciples to be led by Him.

Your assumption that he thinks it belies a closer relationship with God is an unjustifiable assessment. Charles Stanley is describing an emotional or intuitional response to an expectectation. In my personal experience, this is not God. I want it to be God, but it's not. We are very perceptive to environmental factors. That's the "gut" feeling. I have tried to learn not to respond to this as if it is God's voice, and I'm trying to learn to not respond to it if what if "it says" is outside of scripture. God does speak to us. It is in the Bible. Hear His Words this way. All else is subject to personal interpretation. Anything that relies on self is subject to self. My self is not good.

I hear from Papa almost every day. Not all of what He tells me "lines up with" anything in scripture. In fact, some of it is not scriptural in nature to begin with. It is personal, a lot of the time.

@@ApostateApostrophe42276 I am not receiving scripture. All of God's Words are authoritative, that is true. They have the authority to accomplish what they were sent out to accomplish. The canon of scripture does not contain all that Jesus did and taught (it actually says that the world could not contain such a book), but they accomplished all of their various purposes, I am sure. You are under the impression that everything God says to one is designed to be communicated to all. But scripture clearly says this is not so. There are only 2 letters from Paul to the Corinthians in the Bible, but they refer to other letters that are not in the Bible. Nothing Papa says to me in worship would have any real meaning to you, let alone have any kind of authority over you. That would contradict the scriptures that say very clearly that any kind of authority structures, "shall not be so among you."

We can choose to reject what we see and hear because we do not like it, want it, or understand it, right? So, by all means, it is true that we are to open our eyes when God gives us the power to do so, and we are to keep them open if He opens them Himself somehow (I say that because there are so many somehows He can choose, right?). My point was, simply, that their fear keeps them from being willing to accept the possibility of the truth of a particular matter. God does not give revelation to those who are determined in their hearts not to receive it. I will happily produce many scriptures to back that up.

his WHOLE ministry is criticizing other ministers. I would agree that some people he mentions are off, but his opinion is the charismatic or pentacostal or basically anything besides reformed church is wrong and they probably aren’t saved. Ironically his beliefs are God predestined them to be that way because He thinks God is the author of every single thing that happens including evil. He doesn’t have a ‘higher view’ of God he has a wrong view of God.

And you’re allowed to have a ministry that focuses on truth in a sea of false teaching. Your definitions of Revelation and Illumination are good, and i agree that Revelation, as defined here, is not happening anymore. Revelation was only for the purpose of producing scripture. Illumination is only for the understanding of scripture. But, God does communicate to individuals with respect to the daily decisions they are to make in their lives today. Revelation is truth revealed for the whole body. What i am talking about is personal and individual. As His sheep, I do hear His voice. Sometimes He illuminates scripture, but often He directs my actions. We can discuss how this occurs, and how to know that it is Him, but, my point here is simply to let you know that saying God does not speak as I have described is the equal, and opposite, error of the wack jobs we all know you are talking about. Your typical Pentecostal/Charasmatic does not like to study, but relies on personal experience. You and your camp love to study, but are terrified of personal experience. I have been on both sides of the fence. I am correct in this judgment. But, test it, of course.

As for not writing books about it, if you are not a writer, of course you don't. I have not written any books on it, either, and I am a writer. As for waiting for guidance to start your day, most of what we have to do with our days are already fairly clearly guided by scripture. Work with your own hands that which is good that you might have to give to all who ask, for example. Also, there are those kooky folks who need God to give them a sign to go on a green light. Dude, the green light is the sign to go. LOL So, no, I do not advocate the goofy stuff, but those on the other side are generally either ignorant, scared, or usually a combination of them both. Instead of saying God does not speak to people today, try obeying the Biblical command to prove all things? Oh, as for not believing God has left me simply because I do not hear from Him, or feel His presence... Those quotes from Beth Moore illuminate EXACTLY why women should NOT preach. I am now 60, but I have never been able to stomach “Women’s Ministry,” even as a young mother of 5. Now looking back I can see it could have been helpful if was led by a MATURE, sober-minded woman of God but sadly that was never my experience. It was usually led by the trendy wife of the Youth Minister. 🫣

I will agree, I could never connect with Beth Moor, I always felt something was off with her. However that don’t mean there are not some very good ladies in ministry.
