@TomLawsonANIMATIONS8 жыл бұрын
This actually is the shortest route. Remember that the earth is a 3 dimensional sphere, so when you project it on a normal 2 dimensional map, the shortest route appears to take a detour which is a big curve, but in reality this is the shortest route when travelling in 3d over a sphere. Try it by tracing a path with your finger over a globe and you'll see that if you were to project this path onto a map it would be a curve.
@yaosio8 жыл бұрын
It's so they can keep the lie going that the Earth is round. The Earth is a flat disc on the back of a turtle, which itself is also on the back of a turtle. The edge of the disc is covered in dinosaurs that eat planes and boats.
@lNVENTlVE7778 жыл бұрын
A great example of this is... Which US state is closest to Africa? Most of us think of geography in the maps we've seen which flatten the world and would guess Florida, but in reality, Maine is nearly 1000 miles closer. The shortest distance between two points *on a globe/sphere* is a curve, not a straight line like on a map.
@LamyPedro7 жыл бұрын
Why is the plane not turning then? When it curves on the map the plane does not follow the route meaning that map is wrong! If it was the Gleason map it would fit like a glove!
@Lg-kb7ob7 жыл бұрын
Remember its a perfect sphere so theres not "less curve" on a different route. The fact is this route makes sense on a flat earth map and not on a ball map. The curve is nowhere to be seen or measured.

How far out do they go before they circle back towards the runway? It did not seem very far.
@_Neolidas Жыл бұрын
All the turns you saw were part of a "Transition", where aircraft make several turns before lining up on the runway. This not only allows them time to extend flaps, gear, radio-altimeter etc. but also makes the tower controller's life easier because all the planes won't be touching down at near-random intervals. So no, it's not too far.

+Paco Ramirez funny thing is that I will give you the same advice. Ignorance is a bliss for someone stupid and dumb like you.
@pacoramirez73638 жыл бұрын
only-God-guides-to-truth The arc you see is the result of a great circle route. The route is that way because the earth is round, not because the plane is making some sort of invisible course changes. Anyhow, if the earth is so flat then how is it that anyone can look up with a cheap telescope or binoculars and see satellites orbiting the earth, or moons orbiting other planets? Could it be that all of that isn't a giant conspiracy? Before calling others ignorant, please understand that you are blatantly ignoring observable facts in favor conspiracy speculation that, in all probability, you blindly believed from some KZbin video.
@God-is-Great7778 жыл бұрын
Paco Ramirez nice speech but without any substance. why dont you make a video of supposed "orbiting satellites" with your cheap telescope, and then post it on your youtube channel. Once you do that then we will have a conversation. Garbage in garbage out
@pacoramirez73638 жыл бұрын
only-God-guides-to-truth All these people say "why don't you make a video of it and post it?" The problem is, you people will just call it fake anyway. It's just an excuse for not looking yourself. The Plane flies STRAIGHT from Take-off to Landing, but somehow it's flight path is curved... Looking at this on a, 'Flat-Earth'/UN-map, it's flight-path is straight just like you see in the video... ;P
@lordmashie8 жыл бұрын
The flight path is curved because it's displayed on a flat (not flat-Earth) map and as the Earth is round, the map has to be distorted in order for it to be displayed on a flat surface thus the distorted/bent flight path.
@massyfn90407 жыл бұрын
it's curved also at 0:33 at ground level
