Thought I'd do some clarifying here since some people seem to think that my parents are "too hard" on me. My parents are the most selfless, hardworking and intelligent people I've ever met. They gave me everything, and I have the utmost appreciation for what they have done, so I tend to hold myself to a high standard. I've made some mistakes in the past, mistakes that my Mom warned me about before they materialized, and despite the fact that I will keep living my life how I best see fit, it means a lot for me to have my Mom's blessing. She has unconditional love for me, but I also work very hard to make her proud, and I'll never forget what she did for me. I am glad that they held me to a high standard, and that I know what discipline and respect are as a consequence of it. Much love to you all!

But I'm going to take the mistakes that we've both done to each to learn and grow and become a better person and mum in the future. I personally, probably as well as most(if not all!) of your subscribers, think you are one of the most inspirational and intelligent KZbinrs to exist. You bring something completely different to your videos than most do, you are extremely well spoken and freely speak your mind while still leaving it open to other opinions. You never cease to amaze me and bring laughter to my day! I seriously love you so much!!

I can TOTALLY relate to you dear. My mum is definitely an authority, although I know she's always there for me, and she loves me, I am a little intimidated by her, yes, I have to admit it. And sometimes I think that this made me the person I am, which now I am very proud of, but some other times I wish her opinion wasn't that "important" to me….I find myself panicking often when she comes visit me, and at the beginning of my relationship with my bf I "suggested" him what to say or not, he always said "it's ok, let me do my things" and at the end they get along very well. I started to get a bit emotional when you said that you wish to be worth their time spent on you, that's what I think about my parents too.

Ugh, I love your videos. I think what I like most about your videos is that you're this beauty guru who isn't afraid to be expressive with your language. So many of these gurus play this 'picture-perfect conservative' type of characters, which isn't really relatable. Not to mention - you're fucking gorgeous. Thanks for taking the time to make this video! I look forward to your next upload. :)

I'm sorry that you worry whether or not your parent's felt you were worth their time. That's not a good feeling :/ I can tell you that you absolutely are/were more than worth their time and whether or not they are very good at communicating that to you, you are worthy... a sweet, thoughtful, hard working, intelligent, beautiful and talented woman and I'm positive your family is proud of you. Thanks for being you and for being transparent. I'm a newer subscriber but have watched almost all your videos now and always enjoy your new content. Lots of love being sent your way from Wisconsin! Top five parts of this video: 1. Terry's voiceover ending 2. Hearing your thoughts and fears about being a good daughter, I've always felt the same way and even if my Mum says that she is proud of me I always feel like there is more that I should be doing 3. Seeing that recipe book (I'm not vegan but I think the ideas in are brilliant and I like the authors just put it out there writing style. 4. seeing how much your Mum loves you (and her care package of food is adorable, saffron, seaweed jam, himalayan salt, tamarind ( I think), dried fish oh man that care package was amazing). 5. and Terrry's obvious care in how your parents view him (such a good guy). Love you Cassie, xo

Wow... I don't know anyone whose parents intimidate them or others so much. I've always grown up with such a warm family who I can always be myself around, so watching you clean up like crazy because your mother's visit causes so much anxiety is surprising. When I think of family, I tend to think the opposite of anxiety. So this is fascinating. For me, seeing my mom is such a relief because she loves me no matter what, and never judges me, whereas it seems like it is the opposite for you.

This is really interesting, both my parents were pretty strict on me growing up but have eased up over the years. Though I always had a fear of disappointing them because my mom, as great as she is, isn't the one to always give praises or compliments. While she wouldn't tell me I did horribly, she was just a lot more subtle with praises which honestly helped me in the end. Both of them are south asian so I think its an influence of their strict parenting, I used to hate it but I realize how beneficial it has been. Great video Kassie!!

You know kassie, I always would think that my mom deserved a daughter more put together than me. A daughter more like herself & a mother-daughter relationship more like hers with my grandma. My mom deserves the best daughter, because she truly is the best mother. She invested so much of herself into me and my siblings, and it breaks my heart when I do my best knowing that there's somebody out there more worthy of such an amazing mother than myself. But I hate feeling like that. My mom is so proud of me, and she always tells me she is, but I wish I had more to give her and I wish that I had more to show for myself. But i don't. A lot of this has to do with me never being pleased with myself and expecting no one else to be. And I say this to both of us: our mothers love us. They truly love us despite anything, we are their daughters. I probably won't understand this completely until I have kids myself, but I have to try to get it into my head. Anyway, good luck!! Love you and your mama!

+Raghad A This was so sweet. It's so amazing that you're such a grateful lil' angel. It's better to be too grateful than too unappreciative.
