Clouser Variant Fly Pattern by Svenddiesel

Had a lot of fun tying this pattern in a silver and grey to mimic the mountain whitefish here in Oregon. I hope to see if my idea works when I go fishing the Middle Deschutes in a few months.

Love this tie. I tied some up and left them in a cup in a hot car and now the tail is curled. Could I run hot water on these and hang them to get them back?

The feathers or the bucktail? You should be able to rub either under hot water and then sort of strip the water out so the fibers or feather are straight and then let them dry on a paper towel. Repeat if necessary

Yeah I’ve never tied on a law so I wouldn’t be able to compare it. Unless someone wants to loan me one or sell me one at a reasonable price. I’ll do a video

What do you fish for with this fly , and have you had any success using it ?

Yes had success for trout, bass and carp in this exact color. It’s a widely known minnow pattern for the salt water and I’ve shipped out lots of colors
