Did you repaint your wall? It looks good. Clown Pieds are the best double recessive out there in my opinion. Especially low white. Agreed, if your main objective is to try and get an animal based on cheap pricing it's just gonna hurt you in the end.

Great video... I totally agree with what you said about overpaying. If someone has the vision and knows where they want to take their collection. You’re gonna pay what you need to pay! Can’t wait to check out your table at Tinley, see ya there!!!
@Dub.456 жыл бұрын
I think one of the biggest things about the price is that it's always a gamble when buying an animal to profit off in the future. You could spend 10,000 - 20,000 for a snake, but there is no guarantee's when dealing with an animal. So just for that matter I def. have a limit no matter how " right " the animal is for me. If the animal is over my limit, i'll buy the het's to produce it myself, which I find much more rewarding in the long run. Also you'll probably produce more than just one.

You are right about about buying what is right for your collection. Earlier this year, Justin took the time to chat about a project and my looking for multi gene pied girls and how I plan to use them. I got a 5 gene girl, she is great, and a perfect fit into my project. Now, time time to sandblast some Gene X!

my only issue with big breeders that have spent like 8k for a clown in the past they are not that price now, just like a pastel is much cheaper now. Asking for a price from a breeder is the dirty part of the conversation. but the person needs to shop around like for best quality to price like for high white pied for 500$ at one table and 600$ high white pied at another table you might just have a breeder thinking high white pied is that higher price, generally its about the trait and quality of the animal. I would rather pay the $600 from someone i know that always has quality. so in that way you cant over pay for a animal. Quality in Quality OUT. But if someone is asking for a high price they could just be greedy. I find most breeder just dont want the conversation or to even consider to lower the price that they set. Its about value and quality and breeder just have an ego about quality and dont want to consider your personal value. But from a quality person that selling quality animals and you have both value and quality.

Good topic! I have been wondering about my Pastel Clown; whether he might have yellowbelly in him. If I can manage to get a good picture of his belly I'll send it to you to see what you think. He has some of that broken up blotchy pattern where his sides and belly meet. If so, that would add an extra dimension to my breeding plans that would make them even better! I love those first two Clown Pieds! Wish I had the money to buy one outright. :-( If I did it would have to be on a long-term payment plan. I agree with you that Pieds really look best when they have a good amount of pattern to balance out the white. I really like the orange head on that second one! I have never liked regular pieds all that much because their heads always look like normals, however these heads on yours are really pretty and the coloring is really rich! I hope you'll do some more videos showing how to recognize certain morphs in combos! That information is really helpful!

I'm really glad you pointed on the fact that you personally like a 50/50 pied. For obvious reasons. I know that they are a popular gene at the time but like the spider at one time it is a very lucrative gene. Do you personally have a interest in the pied gene or are you doing it because they are in demand and you are in business to make money? I have loved the genes you combined and created in the past. It made you famous. Case in point. I really hope you continue to keep moving in directions that others aren't. You are a pioneer and I am inspired by you. I hope to share some ideas with you in the future and possibly work with you on the projects I would love to produce and keep the market moving forward as you have. Continue the great content. Sincerely, MrCrawlings

Straight up the majority of people will not spend over $500. Some will stretch and go $700. Most will not. Unless they are other breeders making money on these animals.

Before i open any new JKR video i prepare myself mentally for the onslaught of awesomeness I am about to receive. Amazing animals and projects as usual - but I'm going to throw it out there and say for me the OD/YB combo regular pieds wow me more than the clown pied combos I've seen. The one thing i do love about the clown pieds though is the clown head and the extra potential clown brings in the long run. Can you pay too much for a snake? Depends. Breed for own personal very specific goals and collection? Its no rush.. you can wait a year for that male to drop in price so Its entirely down to how much money you want to spend on your hobby. Breed for mainly business? A potential purchase' worth is directly proportional to the snakes you already own. A £5000 male could be hugely overpriced or an absolute steal. So yeah i agree, its hard to overpay for the right snake. Realizing if it is actually the right snake is the hard part hahaha

Yeah you can overpay. Especially from breeders that think they took part in the conceiving of the eggs. I understand they have bills too. Electricity to run the thermostats, feeders, substrate, etc. But Christ, doesn't mean you have to price everything that people have to take out a 2nd mortgage.
@chrisdunn44576 жыл бұрын
I just appreciate you giving me that ODYB, pied, leopard, fire for 500.00! lol j\k!!! Dude, the price is what it is and you always work out a deal if you can! Thanks for such amazing snakes brother!!;)
@jamesgregg186 жыл бұрын
This hobby requires a lot of time and patience. If you buy a low quality animal then you've wasted that time and eventually you patience will run out. If you create an animal that excites you then, the price is worth it. Commit and buy the best thing you can afford.

What fabulous little babes, and agree if you are a breeder than you reap what you sow, but it's kind of sad for people who dream of having an amazing snake just for the pleasure of looking and interacting with will always be just a picture since they don't view their animals as investments but family 😢 thank you ever so much for sharing and best wishes always..Hope your fabulous family is doing well..
@TheCharleseye6 жыл бұрын
From a pure business standpoint, the only way you can overpay for an animal is if you don't recoup the cost. If you're using high end snakes to breed high end snakes (and you're not feeding them beluga caviar), you're likely going to make your money back and then some.

It's EASY to overpay for an animal. Only rich people that NEED to be the 1st to own & reproduce don't mind astronomical $$$$ for a snake that will be readily available for a fraction of the price in abother year. Ridiculous.
