They're probably not added for ability issues, like Alice, Suika, Sakuya and others not being able to fly for long periods of time or just not the usual excuse saying that "characters that were not interested on the incident". I hope some of them come back though.

Definitely feel like IAMP's cast pretty much got retired, along with the PC-98 characters. I'm all for new characters, but it feels like the Monks/Taoists been in just as much as SDM/Yukari/Netherworld. Also generally seems strange that during a battle for popularity/religion Sanae isn't involved. Oh well, guess we can only hope that since they've added in Yukari, Tenshi, Reisen and Moukou they'll add in some of the other old characters (since it looks like they're sticking with the current game style with similar movesets)

Stoked for Tenshi's return. As far as Touhou final bosses go, of the first modern era (MoF through DS) she's the one that gets the least attention. All of her encounters in SWR don't establish too much. Like, we get who she is, but there's not much expansion or development despite appearing in two games after that. Yes, I'm looking at AoCF to develop her some. Also so I can see her squabble with Yukari (again), Shinmyoumaru, Sumireko, and the final boss especially.

With them changing up the fighting game formula every three games so far (IaMP, SWR, UoNL(H) / HM, ULiL, AoCF), I wonder if they'll stick to the air fighters or change the formula again. Or if they'll stick with the doujin circle arrangements in the next one as well (if so, anybody else hoping for S.S.H. / Aether Eru for one of the remixes because THAT would be awesome).

Surnist Actually it's not 100% wrong. CMIIW, in modern Japan, there are no hiragana or katakana for 'wi' so people often pronounced it as Hinanai, not Hinanawi ('wi' now pronounced same as 'i') Same as Tewi Inaba which is become Tei Inaba in terms of pronunciation.

So i dug a bit into Romanization to see for myself. As you said, the kanji used for Hinanawi (比那名居) is 居, therefore, only translating to the sound "i", so on that part, you are correct. But according to SWR, there's another way to write her name, which is this one : ひななゐ, where the last kana "ゐ", also used for Tewi, is obsolete and is now pronounced as an "i" in Japanese. On the description of Tewi Inaba, ZUN said he added this kana in order to make her sound more ancient, which is fitting, since she lived for long in the Bamboo Forest of the Lost, we can only assume he used it on Tenshi for the same effect, as she's a Celestial, and therefore, on a higher plane than humans. Now, what does this mean ? That we are technically both right, although it depends on the country you are in, in Japan, the right one would be Hinanai, in other countries, using both writings is fine. Though i would still use the writing i first saw, which is Hinanawi, as it is much easier on my tongue. :p By the way, you made me look that up, i learned something today ! Thanks !
