I'm one of 5 people who do this in America for a living. but we do it all by hand. the machines in this are crazy...

HI Levi, Sounds like tough but beautiful work :-) Mind if I ask you a question please? Know this is a really basic but, what happens with insulation? I was expecting a layer between some of the compressed , as you find in SIPs panels. Is this left out as more people are going towards heat recovery systems or is it just left for people to add on as an external layer before a final cladding applied? Any information would be much appreciated. Regards

how is it possible to do it by hand? which dimension are you able to do without mechanism?

This is a static structure and with a limited isolation capacity, finally we install cladding or extra insulation material depend on the locations. The CLT very big advantage is the high span and excellent static performance light weigth etc

when I worked at smartlam we put everything up by hand and cut panels to spec with beam saws by hand. we were only making rig mats back then so we didnt have a full on cetifiable for structures product or the presses that were needed to get there. we installed a hundegger pba like the one shown here, the only one in north america at the time. ... good times back then! good times.

Assuming inner walls having a CLT surface, where are electric currents being placed?
@KallesoeMachinery4 жыл бұрын
Concealing the wiring can be done with channels routed and bored in the panels.

What kind of glue is used? Where do wires, pipes and air ducts go?
@KallesoeMachinery7 жыл бұрын
Hi Rob The glue used in this video is a MUF/MU glue. Electrical, piping and HVAC can be integrated in the CLT or placed in the cavity between the CLT panel and for example plasterboard.

Interesting, but what happens with the electric system? it does not look to can pass through the walls
@KallesoeMachinery6 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrei The CLT panels are processed in a CNC machine after the pressing where the electrical system can be mounted into the panels.

How much does it cost?
@KallesoeMachinery7 жыл бұрын
The prize for the CLT production line depends upon several factors such as the size of the CLT to be produced, automation before and after the press etc. If you want a specific price, please feel free to contact our sales department: kallesoemachinery.com/contact.aspx
