3 Ingredient Strawberry Ice Box Cake -- Valentine Dessert -- American Goulash
3 Ingredient Strawberry Ice Box Cake
Ingredients
1 tub whipped topping Large tub, 16 oz
12 Graham Crackers
2 cups strawberries sliced
Instructions
Spread a layer of whipped topping in the bottom of your baking dish, about 1/2" thick.
Add a layer of graham crackers, covering the whipped topping as much as possible. You may need to break the graham crackers into smaller pieces to fit.
Add another layer of whipped cream.
Lay a layer of sliced strawberries.
Repeat until the baking dish is full.
Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve, or at least 3-4 hours.
American Goulash
Ingredients
• 1 pound lean ground beef
• 1 large onion chopped
• 2 tsp minced garlic
• 2 cups marinara or tomato-based pasta sauce approx. ½ of a 26 oz jar
• 1 ¾ cups beef broth or water or as needed
• 14.5 ounces canned diced tomatoes with juices
• 3 tablespoons tomato paste
• 1/2 green bell pepper diced
• ½ red bell pepper diced
• 1 ½ tsp italian seasoning
• salt & black pepper to taste
• 1 ¼ cup elbow macaroni noodles uncooked
Instructions
1. Cook ground beef, onion and garlic over medium high heat until no pink remains. Drain any fat.
2. Add beef broth, pasta sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, green peppers (if using), seasonings, & bay leaves. Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes.
3. Add in the elbow macaroni and continue to simmer, covered, stirring occasionally, 10 to 15 minutes until pasta is tender

Calvin, my grandma would take ground hamburger, a can of whole tomatoes with shell pasta noodles and mix together. It was good. My mom loved with just the pasta noodles and tomatoes.

I just kind of make mine up as I go. 😂 One thing I learned and will share with you to try or not, I got from Patara on her channel called Appalachian Homestead if I’m remembering correctly. Anyway, she asked her Nana why her goulash never tasted as good as Nana’s. She asked her if she added dried parm (like you sprinkle on spaghetti) when the goulash was almost done. I’m definitely making this for my little Annistyn. She loves strawberries & whip cream. I make something similar w ice cream sandwiches. Alternate the sandwiches & whip cream & drizzle w choice of ice cream topping. Place in freezer. Take out & let it partially thaw when ready to eat. Keep in freezer. Delicious
