Club Car Precedent MCOR 2 Hesitation Issue Explained

Hesitation issues with the motor on a Club Car Precedent is a common issue. In this video I show the inside components of a MCOR 2 out of a 2010 Club Car Precedent.
The hesitation issue with the MCOR will cause the accelerator to "cut-out" while depressing the pedal. The cart will not reach top speed or will have issues accelerating during certain speeds.

Glad to see this. I thought my speed sensor might be failing or the magnet. Low speed at part throttle it cuts in and out but when floored itll go full speed without any cutout. I starting to think its this now

Probably the MCOR. That speed was probably used the most on the cart. If it was the speed sensor it wouldn’t make it to full speed or would reach full speed and then slow down to a low speed.

My 2017 Club Car Precedent often fails to respond when I push the pedal down. I may have to pump the pedal 5-10 times before it moves. Does that sound like a bad MCOR? And if so, could you supply me with the part number? Thanks!

Depends on what the problem is. If it’s a speed issue the motor could be bad. Plumb Quick Motors is an awesome company that may be able to help you. Call them and tell them what’s going on. Here is there website. plumquick.com/

Is this for the gas or electric? My gas one has no pedal response for the first quarter throttle. The goes full power when it comes on. Try to cruise slow and it cuts off then bucks to try to go full throttle. Good gas. Good battery. Can not find the rpm limiter to bypass.

This is for an electric golf cart. I’m not familiar with the gas cart and it would be tough to diagnose it without it in front of me.

@HammerWrench yes. There should be something that sends power to the motor. Very similar to an electric cart.

I have that same problem with my 2007. Guess I need to fix that. Would the part be universal with mine do you know?

Yes. The part I linked in the description will work for a 2007 Club Car. There’s a few really good videos on KZbin about how to replace it. Some recommend buying the OEM part but it is $180+ and lasts around 7/8 years. It takes about 15 mins to replace so if the aftermarket model last 2-3 years I’ll just replace it again if it goes out.

I replaced the MCOR with the cheaper aftermarket one and haven’t had an issue since. It’s been about 1 year.

Yes. That is definitely a symptom of a bad MCOR

@@Farmerboy5 if the batteries are good, it’s the speed sensor, MCOR, or the motor. The MCOR and speed sensor are both much cheaper to replace.

@@DadsToyBox I replaced two batteries, now they all read 8 volts except for one which reads 5.9 so I would assume it has enough power to go, I know not full power but shouldn’t be hesitating, I took it off this morning and am ordering mcor as to hopefully save 200 to replace that last battery
