Club Penguin Music #15 - Stage Plays

The Stage was a constantly changing location in Club Penguin, with over 15 unique stage plays over the years. Here are the songs behind three of them.

I can't believe after all this years, I have the chance (thanks to the internet) to say "thank you" to a man who was responsible for composing music that was part of my childhood, and I didn't care at that time, no kid will say "wow, I really like this place because of the music", but now I listen to them years later I remember them with a bit of nostalgia... when I was 10 years old, I just wanted to be an adult in order to buy a CP membership for me, I don't know if the game was still playable I would do, but I'm glad I just have good memories of it.

I was considering talking about that, but I decided to save some discussion of the Stage for a future video where I go into more of the Stage music. I have a theory as to why that happened... I was initially quite disappointed as well, but in hindsight, I think I get it.

oh my gosh the stage was my favourite location, I was such a theatre kid and I’d follow the scripts with friends! The haunting of the viking opera was so fun and the music is still one of my favourite pieces til this day

I remember voting for Squidzoid vs. Shadow Guy and Gamma Gal for best music at the Penguin Play Awards! I can see why I voted the way I did, the music is just as good as I remember!

I turned my back porch into the stage when I was younger, and I would put on my own plays for my family. It was all inspired by this room as it was one of my favorites.

my favorite part about this series is when you mention the name of a party or play or song and it doesn’t sound immediately familiar to me, but then you play the song and I’m humming along instantly

Gravix flash wasn’t the one who compressed it...they had to beforehand because it makes the flash file size HUGE. I tried going back and revamping the music myself but even in today’s standards of internet it took a long time to load if it wasn’t cached

Can you make a video on the music you made for Club Penguin Rewritten? Such as the Recon Room, the Hardcore Mode for Cart Surfer, and maybe The Medieval Party? I really love all the new music because it still fits in with the rest of the CP music. (Also all of the work you did for the Medieval Party was amazing)

The stage was always my favorite place on the island! I'm a big theatre person and have been for most of my life. It made me so happy when "The Haunting of the Viking Opera" came about, because it reminded me of The Phantom of the Opera (my favorite broadway musical at the time) and as a 9yr old it was very difficult to find other people who understood my enthusiasm for theatre (and people singing about haunted opera houses 😂)

Ah, the Stage was always one of my favorite places in CP! I loved so many of them! My favorites were Shadow Guy & Gamma Gal and The Quest for the Golden Puffle. I also loved Ruby & the Ruby for the little puzzle to open the safe and get the special pin whenever it came on!

I remember when it wasn't there, and loved it as an addition. Shame it disappeared in the final years, but I'd left by then anyway. I was on from 2006 - 2012 and play Rewritten to this day.

It was absolutely a reference to Coconut Mall, and it was too close of a reference. I try not to directly copy, and that time I completely broke that rule. That's my least favorite Club Penguin song because of that.

I never even realized until now that multiple stage plays eventually got some form of adaptation as an island wide event. Space Adventure is kinda similar to The Future Party, Shadow Guy and Gamma Gal = Marvel Takeover, Quest For The Golden Puffle literally got turned into an actual event (which was awesome), and The Penguins that Time Forgot = The Prehistoric Party.

Yeah, like Chris said, the stage was used as a sort of testing ground for parties. The Twelfth fish became the medieval party next year, team blue’s rally debut sort of become the various sports parties, etc

I just found Chris Hendricks channel and I am so over the moon happy. I always wondered who created the visuals and music of club penguin, it's absolutely incredible that a large chunk of it as created by the same person. From the bottom of my heart I truly wish I could thank all the people who created club penguin. It is my ultimate source of childhood nostalgia and it gave me so much comfort and happy memories as a child. ♥ As a musician myself my little mind intently listened to and admired many of the club penguin songs.

When I played Club Penguin as a little kid, my all-time favorite Stage play was Shadow Guy and Gamma Gal. I drew so much fan art of them, especially Gamma Gal because I thought she was the coolest. You did a fantastic job writing the score for Shadow Guy and Gamma Gal, as well as performing it for us in this video. Bravo!
