My 2 theories that I would apply are: 1. First card will either be the lowest value or the one with the most of the same type (if i have 4 waters, I'll use the lowest value of that) 2. If they have 2 cards won, I would choose the highest value of the same element. They probably expect me to counter fire using water, so they'll use snow meaning I'd win with fire! And even if they do go fire, I have a chance at stopping them with my higher valued fire

Card Jitsu and Club Penguin's Ninja Stories is arguably the thing that got me into Martial Arts. My college project was an '80s inspired ninja film, I love Cobra Kai, I practice Shotokan Karate! It's all because of your hot sauce, water balloon, and snowball chucking penguins. I still listen to the soundtrack for Card Jitsu before I go to my dojo! The Battle themes all work for a Warmup, November in Okinawa as a cool-down, and the Dojo theme for any other time on the way there. So, thank you Chris. Thanks to you and Lance and the rest of the team. This was an amazing video about something that really means a lot to me, and doubtless does to thousands of others too.

i was NOT prepared for that jazzy bassline in the second card jitsu demo LOL. I'm hilariously getting skull girls energy from it. In a bizarre way, I almost prefer the second demo because of how it clearly it's _not_ ninja music, it's super silly and comedic and I think that really lends to the chaos of card-jitsu's faux martial arts. I will also say, you were talking a lot about not really having any great drum samples 2008, but IMO those really synthetic oversaturated and driven samples are so distinctly club penguin to me. They're super invocative of time and even though that's absolutely nostalgia talking, I think retroactively they really add to the charm. As always, I love you sharing your insights on the game Chris! These videos are always a blast to watch.

some thoughts while watching this video: ninja music #2 is FIREEEE! but i see how it wasn't the right choice for card-jitsu. the theme that you ended up landing on was perfect and i still know the entire thing by heart. i never knew that the dojo theme for the online game was inspired by the DS game. i played both growing up and hearing that they were so similar made sense since they were the same place, but i totally thought the DS dojo theme was inspired by the online dojo theme because the DS version came AFTER club penguin. that's so cool! i love how you took his idea and expanded on it. it made a perfect theme for the online dojo and a great transition between the online game vs the DS game. card-jitsu fire was my absolute favourite of the three spin off games. hearing all the tracks next to each just shows how big of an improvement those new instrument plugs were. i'm feeling very nostalgic now. i still have my sensei dressed in his fire suit plushie. he lives on a shelf in my kitchen protecting my spices. coming back to card-jitsu water as an adult makes some much more sense because as a child i NEVER understood how to play that game. i would just spam click stuff and i never finished the water suit (also i don't think my computer could even handle the gameplay and graphics at the time). i am very grateful to these rewritten versions and i have now completed it. i agree too that the more airy and bubbly sounding tracks would've fit much better. i really enjoy the first one. i'm okay with not hearing card-jitsu snow because i couldn't get my shitty 2000s computer to run the gameplay LOL! NO WAY CARD-JITSU 2024 REMASTERD!!!!!!!
