you know, the quality of nostalgia comes from change. i thank club penguin for its changes. without them, qualities previously seen cannot be cherished. think about it. if club penguin REALLY stayed the exact same in the exact same state and repeated its old parties over and over again, would you call them "old parties", or would you call them "repetitive"? just imagine for a second that nothing in club penguin ever changed since 2011 and parties from thereon would repeat themselves. then where would the novelty aspect come from? the sense of nostalgia comes from the novelty which cannot exist without the conception of change. and change drives us to cherish. without it, we are ungrateful and spiteful people. it is either club penguin changes and is remembered for its greatest times, or never changes and will never have any "greatest times", only a continuous world which will stay the same. if you want a more specific example, look at the game Pandanda. it hasn't changed at all and if you play it now it's the exact same as before 6 years ago, but it was a lot more crowded in the past than now. it died out. why? food for thought.

Nostalgia attack!!!!!!! I'm from early 2007 on CP, I miss old CP! I remember being so excited when the cove and forest were added, the dojo was still hidden, people still thought the iceberg could be tipped, the island's biggest mystery was whether yellow puffles existed or not, waiting to be 45 days old so I could become a tour guide, numbers could still be typed in chat, the first fall fair, where has my childhood gone?!

Wow, and I thought I was the person who was most nostalgic about Club Penguin. I never joined CP in the early 2007 like you did, but I joined in 2011, before Disney intruded. During that time period I saw it all change. I joined Club Penguin right when old CP was changing. I remember the Gift Shop changed into the Clothes Shop, the whole map changing, Spike Hike leaving, Businessmoose leaving, all of it. I grew up playing Club Penguin. I was a massive addict to it. Aahh the Club penguin halloween parties, most halloween parties used to be really cool because of the soundtrack, fantasies, spooky house, storms and I also remember the movie "night of the living sled", I really miss this old times, in my opinion, Halloween was the best party of club penguin

Man. THIS is the club penguin I remember. I still loved club penguin, around this time, but since they started doing all of those disney frozen/other movie crap, plus it being the reason that the 3 other disney games closed, i've pretty much lost all interest in this game. It is gonna be sad that the game is closing, though. This, and the old christmas songs, are the songs I remember when playing this game. Now it just looks like they're trying to milk as much money out of the game as possible, before it ends and they lose so many players. The fact that non-members have to sit in the back as the game closes, just ticks me off.

People tend to forget what made them play that game a decade ago. We were all kids, we created memories by playing the game in these events and then, after years of changes we went into the game and it felt ruined. But, in reality it's not Disney that made you feel nostalgic; it's the fact that these years, you were a little child, have gone for good and you can't do anything about it. I personally feel great that my childhood was full of Club Penguin moments and that I slowly stopped playing around 2015. It's much better that the game is now officially shut down. It can now rest in our memories, where it belongs for us, the “grown ups”.

As much as I miss OLD CP, if you think about it, at the time most of us were ages 6+, so things back then kept us entertained for longer, now-a-days though, the old site would keep me only entertained for about a week tops. I know its sad but its the truth.

I remember I was in grade 2(2006) and two of my best friends and I were obsessed with this game. After school we'd do a group call and all play club penguin online until supper time, and do it every day. It continued to 2010 when in grade 6, we kinda outgrew it. I occasionally came back every couple years to check back for nostalgia reasons and such. Just visited today and my penguin turned 10 a few days ago. And it's kinda ruined with Disney now. Just wish I could repeat this all....

+Happy FoxLuv Ummm actually this played at the Halloween Party 2015. Same with the old main theme. Actually do some research before complaining about not bringing this back. Old music is brought back all the time. These past few months we got things like Event Prep (Sports Party 2006 theme) and Sparky's New Bike (April Fools 2006 music) and for the 10th Anniversary Party we got a TON! We got Campy's Camp (Camp Penguin 2007) Guadelepe Beach (Summer Party 2006 music) Jungle Jangles (Adventure Party music) Coconut (Summer Kickoff Party 2007 music) and more. That is a lot of old music back.

I didn't know that they played some old songs, but in the main rooms like (The Town, Plaza, Snow Forts, Mine, The Forest, Beach, Ski Village, Ski Hill, The Dock) They could at least play a Christmas song like "Deck The Halls" or in halloween "In The Halloween Storm". I wish they would cut the whole disney themed parties, come up with more creative ideas! Also, "In The Halloween Storm" played in Puffle Wild this year. :-)
