@@LouSmith I've loved FWF for ages but thought they may never quite have the big songs for real success... "Feet" absolutely blew me away both the song and the production... and of course the video! Still baffles me that they arent more popular but I like that because it means the real fans are real... if you know what I mean?!
@LouSmith5 жыл бұрын
@@mattiemclean9882 Yeah! they've ( or at least the brothers Saoudi ) have decided there is no way but forward with it and are doing the necessary to make it happen for them. It's a great album plucked from the Sheffield Gulag. Saul still seems to have a self-destructive streak a mile wide. I think the name alone would put off a lot of people lol.
@mattiemclean98825 жыл бұрын
@@LouSmith Yeah I feel for Saul... I'm a drummer and have been in different bands for a few years now and being surrounded by, er; substances when you have a rock'n'roll heart can be a real struggle. Add the fact that when you start making a few quid it gets even easier to do/harder to stop, it's a slippery fish to control. I hope he is ok tho. Some people manage to function in a band no matter what else is going on in their lives. I personally think these types of people make great art....
@LouSmith5 жыл бұрын
@@mattiemclean9882 Yeah. Not only substance abuse. I think there was/is a fair amount of band member abuse at times. Price of genius maybe. Definitely an allergy to corporate moulding and an ornery streak a mile wide.

Scott Kirk nah, didn't make it to Glastonbury. Not really a big festival fan having grown to love the Fats up close and personal in sweaty dives. The Beeb never seem to archive any footage of them, though they did televise the whole set live which I also missed. Their recent Windmill gig at the top of the Jack Medley tribute day was just brilliant as was the whole day.

By the way Lou, I only really know you from a few nice "back and forth" chats we've had on your channel comment's, but you seem like a really nice guy and clearly have a passion for music and film. I'm actually studying music production and composition for film at University of East London (as a mature student) and I'm concentrating on making fairly dramatic and experimental/ambient music for up-and-coming film makers. If you ever need music or want to commission somebody for a project, I would be really up for that. I know there is no bloody money in the industry right now so I would do it for the love of it. Just a thought! I'm going to see FWF for a few of the December dates in Hackney so may even see you there! Keep up the great work mate.

Thanks Mattie. I don't consider myself up and coming, but thanks for the offer. I am having to rethink my entire schtick at the moment due to radical changes in my circumstances. George yeah. Will no doubt be at one or more of their winter gigs. The other guys on stage apart from Alex who you probably recognise are Dante and Gams who are embarking on their own project Xi.
