This was great, thanks, I've been looking for "golf head moving forward on downswing" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Penamillorn Peerless Prevalence - (search on google ) ? It is a great exclusive product for discovering how to learn an effective golf swing method without the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my mate got great success with it.

Thank you for posting a very easy to understand explanation of how to release the clubface into the ball. I have struggled with this all my life despite being a low single digit player. My release was based on timing and that is why I was not very consistent. The right hand off drill will train the left hand to square the face. Thank You

I would completely disagree with the "over complicating golf swing" statement of "golfinguna" person. This is the complete opposite what you think / say, the simplest explanation of what the basics of golf swing is, gosh, if I could only tell you how much Mike's instructions have helped me to be a better player! If you think "over complicated" come and meet my instructor in Chicago! :-)

Wow - this lesson is quite a bit different from what Mike teaches nowadays: strong left hand, minimal forearm rotation.

I couldn’t disagree more. It’s similar. I know what your saying but his forearms always rotate. I think they word twist or roll is more what he refers to as being against

Just got that right hand down now adding left for better control so one hand drills. Can one just use pressure in left hand fingers for this or is whole hand rotation feel
@RollYourRock

It's primarily left forearm rotation that squares the clubface. Your pivot plays into the equation as well, but that's another video... Cheers! 😃

Golf is so much easier (and plenty powerful) the Ballard way; no rotating the left arm and keep the club face square to it's arc. The only reason for rotating the left arm is to compensate for lifting the left arm and swinging the triangle open to it's plane while keeping the club shaft reasonably on plane. It works ok, but compared to leaving the elbows down and swinging the triangle on it's plane, it is far more difficult to learn.

The consistency you have with momentum is way more than the one with rotational swings (Ballard, Whittaker...) Why? Because gravity is constant, your rotation of the body isn't. You have to be a machine like Thomas Pieters to be able to repeat the same swing over and over. With this concepts, you just make sure you keep a stable tush line, shoulders back and drop the arms to the second pivot point. Then the swing is done.

@@RollYourRock I can't check with him but I remember seeing more recent videos he has done, where he says he used to swing like that for years. He know does not swing that way and has found that to be way better. Also every pro I speak to hates forearm roll on backswing as the swing becomes so much harder.
@RollYourRock

@@roninbhaal2039 I totally agree! If anything, you would roll them slightly away from you.

Think what I have figured out is if you swing more vertically with arms but don't rotate body, on the backswing, forearm rotation on the backswing is needed. Alot of older or injured golfers swing that way. However if you are a body rotational golfer, forearm rotation is a killer. I used to swing with the arms in a more momentum style swing, but trying to switch to rotational now. Problem is most golfers have no idea what type of swing they have, then go on you tube to get tips. Recieving the wrong advise for there own type of swing. I suffered this for years. An example for me was combining my natural arms vertical backswing with a massive body rotational downswing. I managed to increase by average score by 10 shots a round, losing 3 golf balls a round due to a duck hook or a massive slice. Took me a couple of years to get back on track. Sorry I'm a bit of track here but hope this helps someone. Oh and by the way had lessons from many pros and I seriously don't think they are even aware that there are different swings out there. If they are aware however, I strongly believe they have no idea on how to spot what swing you have or even teach it. They are all about positions which can be very misleading.
