Shut face a lot. Open it a lot I completely agree with you about so many people overemphasizing body vs hands and arms. I'm sure it's been said here many times, but I'm sure so much of this comes from the announcers on TV always talking about the body and the body rotation. Paddy, I think this is the best video out there for understanding how the golf swing works. Went to the range and just worked on closing the club face at address. Started hitting these wonderful, towering balls that flew for miles. Never have I ever hit balls like that and I was getting compliments on my swing from the guy next to me. I guess I was always addressing the ball with an open club face and stance and no matter what I did with my body I could never correct it. So now my practice is just toying with the club face to see what the outcome is. Absolutely over the moon with the progress I've made in such a short period of time. All because of this video. Thank you so much. ❤

I don't think anyone else explains the inner workings of the golf swing so well as Padraig does, it's just brilliantly no nonsense and concise. In my opinion there couldn't be anyone better to learn the game from than a tried and tested champion golfer who has probably hit more golf balls than I've taken breaths. Padraig, I love you man, and I thoroughly enjoy listening to you and your wisdom. So glad you're led to share your knowledge. One thing I'm struggling with here is that I see so many golfers on a weekly basis who are way (WAY!!!) too handsy (and armsy) with their swings and almost have no body awareness. I used to be one of them. Flat turn, early extension, over the top, and the only way to save a lot of my shots was to get my hands into overdrive. Why wouldn't we want quiet hands instead of frantically turning them through the hitting area to stave off a disaster that's being driven by horrible body positions? I wish I'd started playing golf with Mr. Miyagi (kidding...I think) and wasn't allowed to be within 100 yards of a golf club for a month until I learned proper setup position and weight, proper tilt at the hips, proper takeaway angles with the body, and proper body position through impact to finish.

literally found his videos Friday night, went out Saturday with his pelvis video and shot my lowest front 9(37-3 bogeys, 2 birdies and the rest pars) and lowest score ever with an 82.(I have a bad right hip and becomes extremely stiff so shot a 9 over on the back 9). Now I am binging all his videos and implementing every aspect of his videos into my game and hopefully break 80 soon

Very good. I’m more of an “experienced” golfer with my age and all. I have arthritis in my fingers, especially my right hand. I play with the thick grips,(Jumbomax), ever since they came out. I couldn’t play golf without them. My ring finger on my right hand won’t close. I agree with everything you mentioned, and very true. This is the first video I’ve seen of yours. Looking forward to others. I’ve seen you play in Memphis over the years, as I live in the south. I’m not from Ireland, but we both have the same last name. Winters are really long and cold here in MN. One thing about golf, I'm obsessed with it. I learned more inside, with a controlled environment and focusing on my hands and wrists, than on the course. The only problem with it... when I finally had the lightbulb moment... I couldn't go hit outside haha.
