Nicest celebrity I've ever met, in the early '90s he came to the Lowes Orpheum on 86st and 3rd Ave in NYC where I worked. Mr.Smith stopped in the lobby signing autographs for about a hundred people..smiles...hugged everyone...gave love to the staff too. This guy is amazing, for real.

Shannon be having the best interviews. The man is an interview genius. My first concert ever was watching LL cool J and the Ghetto Boys at Madison Square Garden back in the 80s and I was amazed at LL's energy level. LL ripped that concert apart. He was all over the stage killing it. LL is definitely one of the GOATs and maybe the top GOAT at that. The GOAT deserves all his accolades.

This. I met him the weekend of my graduation from Hampton U in 2000. The hotel had one e of those fancier line dinners like a buffet, at the hotel over the bridge from campus (cant remember it's name). Anyway, I come into the restaurant and my mother is at the filet mignon cutting station, TALKING WITH LL, asking him aren't you the Oden kid? She thought he was a boy from our neighborhood back in Indiana. I was mortified! He was soooo nice. And he was helping my mom make her plate, walked her and talked with her back to her table. 😂❤ it was cute. Long live LL. My moms buffet bestie 😅

I had the pleasure of meeting LL Cool J in person in 1987 when him and MC Hammer were signing autographs at the Troop Club in Oakland, California. I asked to take a pic with him and I was smiling ear-to-ear with a mouth full of metal braces (Invisaligns weren't out yet)😂😂😂😂😂. He was grinning too and had such a shyness about him that read, “I can’t believe how giddy this girl is over me,” which was so humble and sweet. I'm thinking, "Are you kudding??!! You are FOINE!!" We took pics together, me 18 and him 19, two teenagers. Before that, when I visited NYC a few months before, I went to Farmer’s Blvd. and Ilion Ave in St Albans Queens and asked the kids in the hood where he lived. Rappers love to shout out their hoods so it was easy to find out where he lived, and kids tell everything. So I walked alllll the way down Ilion from the corner of Farmers Blvd in some heels to meet him. I found the house, knocked on the door, but no one answered. A dude rode up on his bike and asked, “You looking for Todd (LL’s middle name)?” I said, “Yep.” He said, “He’s on tour.” I was so disappointed and my feet hurt😂😂😂. I had taken the subway to Queens from Times Square in Manhattan where I was staying, but didn’t know how to navigate buses once I got off the subway, so I was on foot. Anyway, though LL wasn’t home, I had prepared a letter for him in advance just in case. I put that letter under his door and walked my azz back down Ilion to Farmers Blvd and headed back to subway station. About a year later, he was doing an interview in my hometown in Oakland and mentioned my letter!! I knew it was mines because he discussed what was in it. In short, I lovvvved me some LL!!! I saw him in concert EVERY time he came to Oakland, with the first time being at the Fresh Fest in 1985. I wore LL Cool J buttons (buttons were a thing in the 80s. Don’t judge me😂😂😂), got his name put on my high school journalist club tshirt (that I still have to this day), and recorded every performance on my VCR when he was on TV. In my mind that was my man, so imagine my devastation when he started dating Simone😂😂😂😂 Those were such great memories… I was already a hip hop/break dancing fanatic in the 80s, and when LL came through he was the cherry on top! James Todd Smith aka LL Cool J - THE G.O.A.T🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🎤🎤🎤
