And I saw clun castle on the railcam of dawlish and this is my first time ever seeing that headboard Z48

I saw Clun at Dawlish in 1985 double heading with Dryswllyn Castle with a 150 reporting number. I have never seen the Z48 either.

Graham, thanks for these memories. Worle station did not exist, when I attended school in that area. My personal memories of the 1950s, in Somerset are of standing, transfixed by the noise, power & proximity of Castles, Halls, Manors, etc, up on the bank, directly at the rear of my Great Uncle’s (& my mothers’) previous home - number 4 of the terrace of 8 Railway Cottages at Beam Bridge. The cottages, now long gone, rumbled & rattled to the steam expresses, with banking engines ascending the Wellington Bank to Whiteball Tunnel, on the ‘Down’ services, toward Exeter & beyond, while the descending services - on the ‘Up’ line- thundered toward Bristol, as in 1904, ‘City of Truro’ had been timed by Rous-Marten's stopwatch at the legendary 100mph.

Well you certainly have some vivid memories of those glorious days at Wellington. Fortunately steam trains can still be witnessed doing the same to some extent although there is a dearth of Great Western designs at present. Worle station looks purely function unlike Yatton station that is still full of GWR character. That special last weekend represents 120 years since the famous run by City of Truro.

Graham, I also remember changing at Yatton junction for Clevedon - with old London tube train stock as carriages drawn by a pannier tank. With, on the down line, the service to Cheddar via Shute Shelve tunnel! It is all etched into my memory. I also used to walk to school along part of the track bed of the defunct Col Stevens light railway ‘Weston, Clevedon & Portishead’ with occasional stone sleepers on the footpath alongside rhynes - pronounced ‘reens’ of the flat marshy land.

@@Pjs75 What lovely memories Peter, I don't go back that far and most of my early memories are of the Bath area. Apart from the S&D sheds and Green Park and further along the Midland Railway to Warmley anf Mangosfield, I remember a pannier tank shunting wagons on the Widcombe side of Bath Spa. The station also had the two through roads and the bay platform on the north side in use. The high mounted signalbox above the canopy on Platform 1 was also impressive.

@thebrummierailenthusiasts5329 I doubt if it will run again now. It was put back to running order for the GWR 150 celebrations after being on display since 1962 at the old Swindon Railway museum that was formerly a church.

Hi Graham. Nice capture. Would you be interested in having your shot included in a 'Steam Driver's Eye View' program that we are making?

Yes I am interested if further use could be made of my video. I am not sure if you can use the video as it is on KZbin or whether you require the original clips. I shot the still images, inserted in the video, with A DSLR camera.

@@OVPRAILWAYS Yes I could but I am not sure how unless of course I write the files to a dvd or memory stick. Please advise, Graham
