My dad was one of a kind. When he was in a room, you knew. He was always the heartbeat of any group he was in, something I try to emulate. It was hard not to laugh around him, or sometimes even at him. That’s what made him the best. He also had a real knack for story telling, where no matter the subject, the volume of his voice would steadily increase until he made you slightly embarrassed because everyone around you was staring. But I was never embarrassed, especially not to be his son. He was the best dad I could have asked for, one that loved me unconditionally and always pushed me to be the best version of myself. In his last moments with us, he mentioned multiple times that he wanted me to know how proud he was of everything I’ve accomplished and become, and I responded by saying how proud I was of him, for how hard he was fighting. But by far, one of my favorite things about him was his leadership. And it was shown every year during one of my favorite activities together, skiing. He always led the way, and we never questioned the route. Although sometimes that backfired on us, when he’d lead us down an icy double black diamond. But he would say it was beautiful and just groomed :) But now it’s my turn to do the same, not only on the slopes but in life as well. I promise to carry the torch and be the leader now, you’ve given me the blueprint, we’re in good hands now because of you. I’ll never stop loving you Papa ❤

So sad about your dad, cancer is a horrible disease. My dad died of it as well, I have survived it, as has my mom. Much love and prayers go out to you and your family, and hopefully for you the Bears continue to play well to lift up your spirits, at least until they play my Packers! Be great, it’s been awesome to watch you grow your game and business, getting to 10k, 25k, 50k, 100k, and a million subscribers, all while getting better and better at the game. Your dad is correct to be proud of you!!

Sorry for your loss brother. I myself recently lost my grandfather to pancreatic cancer. The way you described your father is the same way he was with me. The heart and soul of the family and would light up the room with his energy, selflessness. And stories. But like you said, they will always be with us. I’ve been watching your content for 2 years and have always enjoyed your energy, the way you play the game, and your passion for poker. You’ve definitely helped inspired me to play and become a better player since I started and I thank you for that. I’ve won plenty of home games and placed in a few tournaments as well. Soon amazing opportunities will happen. Not just for you but to your friends who help you along the way as well and to anyone reading. Thank you Wolfgang and God bless! Much love from Washington.

Hey Alex, very sorry to hear about your Dad. My condolences. Next March, it’ll be 3 years since I lost my father as well. I wasn’t there for the end, as I live away from where my parents did and his passing was sudden, but I saw him the weekend before he passed. It was on a Wednesday and I saw him Sunday. Couldn’t believe it at first. He said some things along the lines of being proud as well of where things were at for me too when I last saw him, so what you were talking about hit me. Sounds like you two had an awesome relationship, which I know will be cherished forever by you and all of your loved ones who had that relationship too. Best thing for anyone who experiences loss like this is keep on moving forward positively, brother. And I know you’ll do that. Your speech at the end of this video moved more than just me, that’s for sure. Big love to you Wolfgang, keep making him proud and keep up the great work. He’ll always be with you. Congrats on the latest tournament win, and hopefully many more wins to come. We will all be here.

Just lost my dad 3 months ago and he was a larger than life wonderful, spiritual and blessed man as well. Loved by all and my best friend and supporters too. Stay strong, remember all of the good times everytime you feel sad, which happens often and talk it out with someone. It helps.tremendous to watch you mature and your poker journey. I'm 59 and have watched since the awesome "rent got to expensive" days which I love. Go get it and if you ever need someone to just talk with who has similar experiences, the offer is open. Take care, stay strong and may all your hands be live.

Well done in all regards Wolfgang. You played very well under pressure, you were good for poker, and made it a great video. I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad when I was 18, and he too was my best friend. The pain never leaves, but what does get better is your perspective on it over time. It becomes a part of your heart, and it’s an odd thing but such tremendous pain has such a beautiful ability to make that heart more grateful, appreciative, and have a different level of understanding of your memories of your Dad, the hardships of life, and you yourself as a person. Your Dad will continue to influence the man you are as long as you live. I miss my Dad dearly when things are tough, but my god does it hurt in the quiet moments after big life milestones. It brought tears to my eyes to see that he came to the poker room with you and has been able to see all your success. God speed to your Papa and all the best to you
