When you play cards you don't automatically win with what you are dealt. The cards have to hit the board. So he wasn't "bailed out" he just had the winning hands.

@@Chris-vz2kv There's a lot of strategy going on that's wayyyy beyond the cards. Being good at poker isn't about playing the cards; it's about playing your opponents and reading their betting behaviors and understanding odds regardless of what cards you hold.

They really are, all of the top players all though extremely talented they are even luckier. That’s the biggest factor in gambling anyways, rather be lucky than good

It's a "short deck" where Ace counts as the highest card or a 5, instead of highest card or a 2. The numbers 2-5 have been removed from the deck, so you can make a straight by A6789

Played without the 2s, 3s, 4s, and 5s so it's a "short deck".

It means that 2 through 5 cards are removed from the deck. The rules in terms of betting structures, play of the hand, and showdown are the same as in Texas hold 'em. However, before play begins all cards 2 through 5 are removed (16 cards), thus the total number of cards in the deck is 36. Aces are high, but same as in Texas hold 'em, can make both low and high end of straights. For example, the lowest straight would be (9x-8x-7x-6x-Ax) and the highest (Ax-Kx-Qx-Jx-10x). This changes the probability of hands and alters hand rankings. So, a flush beats a full house as it's less probable.

You know... i missed that - i was wondering why at 8:00 the commentator said Ivey was on a straight draw when he had 87, and the board was K68A; I was so perplexed.
