Thanks brother. There are several of these videos but found yours most informative. Did this by myself in 15mins and I'm far from a mechanic.

Can't believe I waited 2 years to do this for my MK7.5!! Stage 2 since 7k, 1,000s in supporting mods and visual mods, but the BEST DAMN mod so far cost me a few drops of DOT 4🤯 Thanks for the vid

Did this modification today as well as fitting a quick shifter...took me approximately 45 minutes to do both..I used an easy bleeding kit to get the air out after so I could do it on my own. After taking the car out for a 20 mile drive the difference is definitely noticeable when pulling away in 1st and also changing in to 2nd gear. Definitely easier to balance the clutch and throttle when pulling out of junctions. 100% worth doing in my opinion, car feels so much better to drive. 👍

Incredible how such a small piece has a large effect. Imagine how many other things there might be that we don’t know about. I have a new clutch and flywheel coming soon, let’s see how that feels. 👍🏼

Yeah definitely...I also installed a clutch pedal stop and removed the clutch spring...it gives you back the full control of the clutch operation imo, instead of the car been restricted as to when the clutch is operating (if that make sense?) I wouldn’t say it’s for everyone, but I’ve been driving manuals for 30 years and it definitely suits me and my driving 👍

Yeah I heard those are popular mods the travel and feel is good on the stage 2 clutch, I didn’t remove the spring because from my prior knowledge (on the Mustang) “Your clutch pedal will never fully return to stock position without any assist spring, and over time your slave cylinder may begin leaking due to constant pressure on its seals from the clutch pedal not returning to the stock position.” So since it feels good as is I’m going to leave it for now.

Great video, I think my clutch is either slipping or I have this restrictor installed on my S3, gonna try and do this when I install a quick shifter.

Pretty straight fix. Why would'nt VW just eliminate that small yellow piece if the clutch responds better without it?🤔
@CarsCouches4 жыл бұрын
More money selling clutches could be a reason. Also engagement is smoother with it but feels fake. Kinda hard to explain but so far everyone that does the delete has only had positive experiences and feedback.

@@christophertabor7893very delayed but probably so people don’t feel that the clutch is jumpy or uncomfortable for the average driver. Same with the clutch assist spring.

Hello, what exactly is the little yellow plastic for and have you put the little plastic back?
@CarsCouches9 ай бұрын
It’s what delays the engagement, the whole point of the delete is to remove that yellow piece so there is no delay.

Is this piece in the mk5’s as well?

I’m not really sure. It wasn’t hard to do so you could check physically if you have one.

Hey I know this is an older upload but did you notice a change in how high up the clutch engages/disengages after this? Or did it feel exactly the same just quicker?
@CarsCouches2 жыл бұрын
Same just quicker.

If the release is lower to the floor, you have air in your line. If its higher, maybe you got rid of some air previously in the line.

nice! thank you for the vid! going to do this tomorrow morning. one question, how large is that piece? I was thinking of drilling out that piece to open it up even more
@CarsCouches4 жыл бұрын
I would suggest just taking the delay valve out to avoid any issues that boring out the bleeder block would have. If you want the bleeder block to be larger there are some aftermarket options out there. ECS Tuning sells one that’s pretty good, but I felt like taking the delay valve out did more than enough.
@seldoon_nemar4 жыл бұрын
@@CarsCouches did a little bit of research and it looks like I could just run a 5/16 bit though it just to open it up a bit more. I just only want to go in there once, and the aftermarket ones are decent if I have a problem but as is, this is free LOL. gonna use that money for better shifter feel and the stainless hose

where in the video does it actually show the process of you removing the piece because all I hear is your mouth. not informative at all. less talking more doing!!!

Sorry I couldn’t help! I’ll note that some people need more than what I provided so next time I make something like this, I’ll do a better job.
