Fear of rabies as a kid made me not want to go near any dog or animal that had the slightest bit of drool or saliva coming from its mouth

I went to Songkhla zoo in Thailand and I definitely think one elephant had zoochosis. It just continuously walked in a circle and at the time I thought it was just bored 😟

Rabies was the virus in the both the horror movies REC🔴 AND QUARANTINE, AND THERE'S NO CURE FOR IT.
@VelkanAngels6 ай бұрын
Yes there is. Rabies is curable before it reaches the brain. The one upside to rabies is, that you're highly unlikely to become infected without knowing about it, since it spreads through bites from rabid animals. Imagine on the flipside if it could be transmitted without us even knowing about it, considering the symptoms don't show until it's reached the brain, at which point curing it is no longer possible :l (Yes, this is me trying to find a sliver of light in something that scares me, lol).

There was a guy from Illinois in 2021 that woke up with a bat curled on his neck. The bat tested positive for rabies and the 80 year old guy declined the vaccine against doctors urgent recommendations. He died shortly afterwards

@totchi67 ай бұрын
If it helpsz I work with macaques, and can reassure you the odds are MINISCULE. Just like... don't make out with one or get pissed on lol. Look at ot as normal herpes. They shed the virus when they're stressed and having an outbreak, like any person with a cold sore. Don't kiss your partner when they have a cold sore and you won't catch it.

Not even sure why zoo's are a thing or why people enjoy seeing depressed, caged up animals. If anyone would love to see animals live they should make the effort to do so on game reserves in the animals natural environment, being accountable for their own safety. Its wild that 2024 zoo's are still a thing. Watch a documentary about them in the wild if you can't see them in person, its alot more captivating.

I wonder if there’s anything people can can to help a animal when they catch rabies and yeah I stopped supporting zoos a long time ago I hate them and everything they do to those poor animals
