Here's my current attempt at capturing how Clyde Davenport played Five Miles from Town / Five Miles Out of Town. He called it by both names. I play it fast and then slow. It's not perfect, but I think I've captured a decent amount of his fiddling and bowing. It's kind of a tricky tune, and I'm sure it's not perfect. I love teaching Old-time fiddle and banjo lessons if you're into this kind of stuff.
The Five Miles tune floated around in the repertoire of Clyde's community on the Upper Cumberland Plateau -Tennessee and Kentucky lines. GDAE Key of D. Check my channel for banjo version of Five Miles based on Clyde's playing: I've put a lesson up there playing it as close as I can to his banjo version.
I've also a got some cool recording projects in the works if you'd want to follow my bandcamp page.

I can't speak for the bowing, but the way it sounds to me is 98% how I've heard it played. (speaking as someone who doesn't play it yet)

What a great help you are here, and this is one of those great tunes that make you glad to be a fiddle player; so fun to play. As far as the name, I wonder what the original was exactly, if there was one - "to" or "from" would depend on whether you're coming or going? Thanks so much

I wonder if fiddling is really just the practice of relearning tunes you thought you knew how to play every few years. That's pretty much what it feels like a lot of the time, and it's weirdly satisfying.
