The Glyde was pure joy to watch. Arguably had the smoothest movements seen in the game. No overpowering or full-speed plays, just finesse. On top of it, he always put that calm face of a silent killer. He was rightfully part of the 1992 Dream Team at the SG spot alongside MJ. All said.

He always is a smooth lucid player to play with in video games too. Whether NBA2K5 and on the legends team of the 90s which bankrupted you from like 60% of the actual best players of the 90s. And he was blad headed like the Houston years so he was a pretty cool Drexler to play with. And in the new NBA2K's from 11 to 22 and onward he's always been and those Blazers squads have been amazing fun to run and gun with. Pull up for 3's and coast to coast jams with Glide and Kersey and Clifford Robinson. Terry Porter is nice to pull up with on full green light

How many titles would him and Jordan of won together in portland ?
@benyah33903 жыл бұрын
@@ericsigersmith2831 the real question is how many chips do the trio of Clyde, Sampson, and Olajuwon win had Houston drafted Clyde with the #3 pick in the "83 draft instead of Rodney FREAKING McCray. Even if Sampson goes down, You still have Clyde & Dream for years to come. Jordan & Pippen aren't stopping that. Houston's mistake wasn't not drafting Jordan over Hakeem, nor was it the proposed trade of Sampson for Drexler and the #2 pick in '84. It was the year before by not drafting Clyde at #3 when they drafted Sampson at #1. A healthy Sampson along with Dream(Twin Towers) & Clyde is just as good as MJ, Clyde, & Dream. Hakeem & Clyde in Houston could be more potent than Jordan & Clyde in Portland.

The most underrated player of all time. Been in the finals twice without any superstar teammates. For me he is the 2nd greatest shooting guard of all time. If you put Wade in his situation, I don’t think he can achieve what Clyde had.

That's a good point. I don't see Wade producing the way Drexler did on that Portland team. Kobe, maybe. But he really benefitted from Shaq and also Jackson. Adelman was an underrated coach and Portland was often thwarted by the refs, being small market, but I don't see too many guys doing better with what Clyde had to work with.

If you re-watch the All Star game from the year Magic came back you will see that both Clyde and MJ were going at each other hard and that day Clyde definitely got the better of MJ. He was so special, so addictive. Even if he showed that he was one of the strongest bballer of his era, even if he was a warrior who was fighting on each ball and never give up, he a kept a gentleman attitude during his whole career. Clyde was/is my favorite NBA player always, especially when I was solely a Trail Blazers fan for nearly 4 decades since 1980. I really got into the Blazers even more once they got their WCFs in 1990 & 92. Thus, the Drexler Blazers is my favorite era. It was somewhat ironic & sad, but still happy for him, when Drexler asked to be traded, to Houston, & then won a Championship there his first season, though he never got a championship in all his 12 years with Portland. I stopped being a Blazers fan by 2020 when they again got booted off in first round playoffs, but the big kicker for me was when they did not acquire Jeremy Lin by at least the end of 2019, because there had been 2 rumors of Lin going to Portland that year, but it never transpired. Jeremy Lin is another favorite of mine. You would think that 2 rumors instead of 1 would probably mean that the rumors would actually become real, but in this case it did not. When Jeremy began to play in Houston by the 2012-2013 season, who was there to do the Rockets courtside broadcast commentaries than Clyde himself. Thus it was spiritually the only way that 2 of my favorite players, Clyde & Jeremy, from 2 different distant eras apart, got together on the same team in the NBA.
@bigglilwayne70509 ай бұрын
Jeremy Lin doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Glide, js lol.... If Portland could've actually gotten Arvydis Sabonis when they initially drafted him back in 1986, the Blazers would've won at least 3 or 4 championships, possibly 5 or 6
