I'd put him at number four all time, although I certainly understand people that would put him fifth. He's behind Jordan, Kobe, and West, but after that there's nobody that's clearly better than Clyde. I know people say "but Wade won a championship as the main guy, Clyde didn't!" Yes, he did, but look at the roster Wade had on that title club. Shaquille O'Neal, even a bit past his best, was the best center in the league and easily better than anybody Clyde ever played with until he teamed with Olajuwon. Drexler took a team with zero other hall of fame players to the finals twice and lost to two all time great teams in the Pistons and Bulls. When Clyde joined the Rockets, even though he was aging he transformed that team. They had been mediocre following their title win against the Knicks and at the time of the trade were 30-17 and looked bad even when they won. They struggled to adjust to Drexler at first, but Clyde played well. In the playoffs he was a one man fast break for them. Watch the 94 champion Rockets and then watch them with Drexler. It's a different team. Drexler had the misfortune of playing in one of the league's smallest markets for most of his career and suffered by comparison to Jordan. No, Drexler wasn't as good as Michael, but he was better than just about everybody else. At his peak, Drexler was averaging 27 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals a night. There aren't many guys that ever got close to those numbers.

Lebron is nothing similar to Jordan other than jersey number. He's the biggest sports icon in the world. He help basketball spread globally. If MJ did not exist, Ewing, Miller, and the legends of the 90s would have rings. He made a lot of hall of famers ringless. Something Lebron and Kobe has never done. If Jordan didn't retire after 98. The 99 Spurs wouldn't have won it all. A 35 year old MJ (last title) is still a better player than half of the leagues best player today in their prime.

Not against KD, Kawhi, or Giannis. I don't see prime vs prime, anyone is far better than anyone. Strength wise I give it to 90s, even defensive end. 10s guys are great too. Besides KD, no other is more effective than Bird. Even with KD, he would really come out as clear better. Shawn and Dominique may be a stretch. But they are also really good. About guards, you name 3: Curry, Westbrook, and Harden. Those who are bad and somehow okay at defend. Magic is clearly better than them overall. Gary is better at defensive side. Mark Price may be a stretch too. But his efficiency is good. Your guys vs my guys, I see game 7. So don't come out here and disrespect the 90s. As an old timer, (born in the 70s) seeing the part where you say Jordan 'destroyed him' in 92 just couldnt be further from the truth. Jordan couldnt guard him and most of the time he got switched on or double teamed by Pippen. (Watch the series im not making this up). He average close to a triple double whilst facing a double of Jordan and Pippen. Let that sink in. In the moments when it was 1 on 1 against Jordan, he dunked by, facialed or shot the ball on MJ most of the time.

I'm late to the game on this reply, but as a Portland native who attended every single playoff game from the late 80's through the early 90's, and as somebody who remembers those finals like it was yesterday, I can say with confidence MJ absolutely destroyed Clyde. Clyde on 20 shots per game shot .400 from the field. His efficiency killed the Blazers in what was actually a close series. He also hit 3 out of 20 3 pointers. Clyde forced shots to try to keep pace with MJ, and that was the one thing that couldn't happen. Clyde didn't need to be the best player in the series (Was never going to happen with MJ on the floor). Because Portland was deeper, Clyde needed to just be clearly the 2nd best player in the series, and due to his horrid inefficiency, he wasn't, Pippen easily was better than Clyde that series (20/8/7 off far better shooting, plus playing fantastic defense). Clyde being at best the 3rd best player in the series is why Chicago won. In game 6, where the Blazers had a lead in the 4th and only lost by 4, Clyde was 8-24 shooting again forcing bad shots trying to keep pace with MJ. He did get destroyed by MJ and is the main reason the Blazers lost that series.

Like Wilkins, Clyde was similar to Jordan in terms of driving hard toward the rim for the dunk and soaring high for a power dunk. He’s one of the many top competitors that Jordan faced. @simplilumanglas53675 жыл бұрын
Clyde is definitely an all time great but it's not really close between Wade and him. People try to minimize Wade's career a lot while ignoring the fact that he won a ring as an alpha in his 3rd year!!! That was one of the best finals performances since MJ. Then just add his 2 other rings on top of that with his great performance in the 2011 finals where LeBron just shat the bed...

But I think Harden will soon enter the top 5. I don't have Iverson because he sadly didn't win a championship and after his first stint with the 76ers he wasn't a clear cut superstar anymore.

@@serdarkoc3975 Yeah, statistically Drexler's overall better than Reggie all the day. No I disagree although I have Clyde at 4 for my top 5 Sg list he isn't close to Dwade. I mean 3 Championships + 1 FMVP is already much more playoff success to 1 Championship, and Dwade had a better regular season career as well, having legendary seasons like his 2009 one where he should have been the MVP, with all that I consider Dwade the better defender too. Both were equal playmaker honestly but as far as impact goes I would easily take Dwade. My list: 1.Jordan 2.Bryant 3.Wade 4.Drexler 5.West (played most of his career at Sg) 6.Havlicek 7.Iverson 8.Harden 9.Allen 10.Miller
