Since a longer time I've been searching for a good mic that provides a line signal output. I've immediately read in the online manual if the CM-15 has a line signal output and yes it has. I can connect the CM-15 to various samplers or eurorack modules without needing a preamp or a mixing board. For me that's fantastic.

What is the sensitivity of this microphone? 14db noise for LDC - it's not that noisy, but not good enough for quiet recordings... Is your voice recorded on this mic at this video? if yes, then it sounds like a cheap condenser microphone. USB SNR dBA FS: 120 dB - that's very noisy preamp. Even old cheap zoom h4 has better noise floor in it's mic pre's. Is there any windscreen included? how to use it in the field without it? does it have some kind of suspension for catch a vibrations? Who is this microphone for? portability? There are many small microphones on the market. If you have $1200 you can afford a portable recorder and 2 condenser SDC mics and that will sound better and give more features and functions) I'd rather buy any of the dozens of excellent microphone models for that kind of money. Schoeps CMC1 mk41 costs 1.4-1.5k, sennheiser mkh8050 costs 1.3k. Line audio cm4 - 120 eur. Oh boooy..... Guys, I'm really impressed with your marketing talent. You can even sell a donut hole. I would buy something like this for less than $250 like other cheap/mid range usb mics.

Really love the design here. TE always knocks it out of the park in that regard. @@estefanoandres yea man! Bear in mind I said "mostly comparable", so they might not be a spec for spec match, but you could literally buy both of the mics I'm suggesting and still have money left over compared to CM-15. The Tula mic is the one that came to mind first when I saw this. It's a dual capsule design with USB C, battery powered, and can take a micro SD for onboard recording. Next is the Zoom H2n which has 4 or 5 different mics, switchable capture modes, and can do omnidirectional recording. It can also function as an interface, runs on batteries or plugged in, and has micro SD as well. I have one personally and it sounds fantastic. There are plenty of others as well, but those two immediately came to mind. Both of them are at or under $250 USD too. I love TE, I really do, but this one was a swing and a miss imo.

Nice design, but I struggle to see the purpose of this device. The kickstand and limited gain settings (presumably in USB) are not suitable for anything other than basic recordings for people who have more money than sense. I also don't see a way to easily put this in a shock mount. And it's design is wide enough that it might obstruct someone's view. For $1200? Damn.

@@morlidor Sorry, what I meant by "I haven't seen anything quite like it" was more about the actual appearance - the closest thing I've seen to this particular aesthetic is maybe the Tula mic (which folks seem to like), but I can see why the look of this could be polarizing. That being said, I'm not super familiar with the world of microphones 😅But you're right - even with my limited exposure to them, I know there are a _ton_ of awesome affordable microphones out there now. And, once you add things compression, expansion, and de-essing into the audio pipeline, many of them can even compete with far more expensive microphones.
