Interesting how The elite had no reason to do and AND not only that but show us there disgust, unless they were thinking long term story telling. Wow... i actually think Punk will return to AEW. I mean the whole private investigation too seems fishy. Something isn't right unless once again this whole thing is a work. Ace's wife was never interviewed for the private investigation. That's a big red flag something isn't right. Whether it's a work or not. If it's a work. It makes sense to sensor the wife and make it all look real. If it's not a work and it's actually real. Who else is here right after Survivor Series '23 to compare pops.... love him or hate him (for the record, and this might be more of an indictment towards his recent behaviour and history of ego-driven antics, but I don't care enough to feel on either end of that emotive spectrum), he gets one of the, if not the, biggest pops you will hear in pro wrestling for a superstar in their hometown. I'm and 80s baby, and sure it is often difficult to judge it on TV, with piped in sound and production manipulation, but hearing that in real-time is insanity - and you can tell that bringing him back was purely a business decision, so there would be no incentive for WWE to artificially boost the reaction. Having Randy return, albeit more anticlimactically given that it was pre-announced (I feel this may have gotten Randu's blessing given that he is your wrestler's favourite wrestler, but will never go those elite top tier pops usually reserved for the big boys (Rock, Cena, Austin, Brock, Bret (Canada), even Jericho...just to name a few. But that was legendary... ball is in your court now, man. Zero excuses. Appears Paul brought him back in with open arms (stating that he is finally "backl him"), and even alluded to the fact that all parties have grown and matured since his last stint ended rather bitterly and unceremoniously almost a decade ago. Writing is on the wall for him and Seth (with a nice backstory and some real heat) to build up to a Mania spot...but, sadly for Seth who seems to be the stepping stone to reignite the returned fallen heroes back into the upper echelon (which is resides in but truly more than a1B, than a 1A like the Tribal Chief), and then also crush the future of WWE (I saw this with a subjective bias, BTW), and have Cody finally write his fairy tale ending for Dusty blah blah and strip Roman (where he will likely take 810 months again, dabble in movies and that's all she wrote). What I really want is what we were teased with last year, then gut punched after the fact knowing that it was all but delivered for last Mania, and get the Rock to come fight Roman...give Cody Punk and that's all she wrote....orrr, let Seth avenge Cody and get his win back which makes ZERO business sense if that goal was always to put Cody over at the top (and Punk at this stage of his career and general likability, or lack thereof), shouldn't put a damper in those plans., Basically, Cody can't lose at Mania, no matter who he fights, if we expect what we expect....I do feel they may want to push Roman to overtake Hulk for the outright record, which would be a good look for the new gen cementing their legacy, given the almost impossible eras they had to follow, and something Roman has every right to demand, not to mention Heyman and his internal pull....should be interesting....but now with Punk AND Randy back, we have more option to dream book at Mania....I don't think Drew moves up into that picture yet, but now that I think of it, a good match to keep him top of card and suffer a "good" loss would be to bring back Brock a la Taker for WM (no clue if he's still on contract), and build the angle of him avenging his lockdown loss to Drew at an empty stadium Covid Mania....lot of options, which makes Rumble very interesting....oh, and Señor MITB is still in the pic too...they better cash that in a RR, or else I see it being used on the Raw after Mania....might get lost in all the star power we hope to have on the bill in Philly....OK, so apparently I just wrote aa blog in the comment section....hmm....TLDR is to follow me all platforms at #drustil and on TikTok at #DrusViewz....might as well get some free promo for the 230AM carpel tunnel now sustained following the completion of this dissertation.....Cheers!
