I do the set up at the Allstate Arena. I did the set up for the Arena and for the backstage for the show. After his match, which was last match of the night, you would think he would run straight into his dressing room to shower and get out of there. We were waiting backstage, ready to get the greenlight to tear it all down after his match, CM punk was the only guy who he was walking past us and he stopped and shook everybody’s hand and said “thank you guys for everything tonight”. And we’re just part of the set-up/tear-down crew. We were just standing there in the tunnel backstage. Not sure if he did it because it’s his hometown or what but it was cool as hell.

I will say the guys and girls today take really good care of their fans despite how tired they must be. I remember going to live events in ‘91 and ‘92 and hanging out where they walk in and even the babyfaces would blow you off. I remember the Legion of Doom and Randy Savage both wouldn’t even look up. The one exception was “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan who smiled and gave a “HOOO!” as he walked in.
