That's not proof CM Punk has left the WWE. He even said it, at the end, he needs a break. That's exactly what Jericho needed in 2005, and look what it did for him. Personally, I would love to see Punk go into movies. Comic book movies, especially. I, personally, think he'd make a more convincing Wolverine than Hugh Jackman.

Shook s Hugh Jackman's Wolverine is a pussy, in comparrison to the Wolverine from the 1990's cartoon. I'm sure Punk understands that much and would want to go back to the Wolverine of the past.
@TonyH246810 жыл бұрын
TheeRossHendrix Jackman's wolverine is great dude...he was a bitch in Xmen 3, but that was just a horrible movie. Not Jackman's fault. You're crazy if you think Jackman's wolverine isn't good. And CM Punk, just like every other wwe star that tries to act, would fail miserably.

I don't think this is a work. When you quit, you quit. That's it. I think WWE is trying to change his mind because NOW they see that they need him and he is right about what he is saying. Whats ruined WWF/E was the switch to PG, when you have guys fighting on a screen there needs to be a bit of aggression evident instead of the constant stream of goofy bullshit. There is nothing wrong with a few comedic promos a show but it's gotten overkill. It's like Disney owns the WWE. I miss stuff like Rikishi's stinkface and the kiss my ass club, then there was the APA, and ladder matches with a great hardcore scene with The Hardy boyz, hardcore holly, Al Snow, Mick Foley, Steve Blackman, RVD, Dudley Boyz, Steven Richards, I could go on and on! Now the title is retired and hardcore matches are niche at best. Half the reason I watched wrestling was for the hardcore/ladder/TLC matches and the other half was for the big name main eventer's like Stone Cold. There were even some decent mid-carders back then like Val Venis and Mr Ass who had great gimmicks as well as "The Big Red Machine" in his prime. I've tried to like the new guys like Jack Swagger, The Miz, Kofi Kingston, etc but they just feel bland.

***** For me the problem with WWE and the PG era these days is the thing that made it so awesome in the 90s/early 00s in the first place.....Vince. In order to make money back in the day he went around buying up all the competition, and putting the show on millions of TVs each week before anyone else ever had the idea, or the means to do so. This left him with a huge amount of talent, a great product and lots of $$$$. But then when WCW did the same thing and offered a better product he once again changed the game in order to make money. He switched to the "attitude era" and brought in much more violence and adult humour, and eventually totally surpassed anything WCW could do. Just think how much money Vince must have made from the start to the end of the illustrious "attitude era". Then when he had dominated the market again he went and bought WCW and ECW and found himself in a position where he held all the talent, all the power and had no real competition. So then he sits down and works out how to make even more money....he goes after a larger target audience..(more fans=more %%%%). By making WWE a PG product he opens the gates to massive amounts of new customers and although in my opinion the product suffered as a result, he still made a fortune. You see the same thing in movies these days...look at the original Terminator. It was graphic, bloody and seriously violent and was obviously rated 18, but as the sequels came out they got dumbed down into 12A products so that they can reach a larger target audience. The result is they were shitty films compared to the original. My point is that even though Vince is the one who created the WWE that we all loved back in the "attitude era", hes also the one who killed it. Both its creation and its disappearance are solely down to his pursuit of more $$$$$$$$
@benkuru628510 жыл бұрын
It's a fact that wwe is crap now but I think wwe had to get into the PG era. Do you remember what happened with Chris Benoit?? All of that was cuz of the fact that he was actually getting beaten and getting a lot taken out of him. He wasn't the only one who was going through all that. Wwe was in a very bad position and had to make the transition to the PG era to avoid getting sued for every penny they had. Don't get me wrong I hate this era. Like I don't get some of these characters at all. Wtf is a guy like fantango, who's a dancer, doing on a wrestling show?? It's all cuz of this era. I'm sure wwe realizes how bad the PG era is but they can't risk getting into another era like the attitude era.

@runninaway10 жыл бұрын
Gary Oak The G.O.A.T That's unrealistic as fuck, Triple H and those you listed are not wrestling non stop every week, and most of them (except RVD, who already takes a long break) do not jump off the top ropes, and Punk has been wrestling for a long damn time. His knees are almost gone from doing the Pepsi Plunge back in the old days, and his ribs hurt, you can't really expect a guy like Punk to not get worn out considering WWE's work schedule.
@arexyouxepicxenough10 жыл бұрын
Gary Oak The G.O.A.T They also don't wrestle as much, take breaks often, Punk has been Wrestling with breaks only for injuries (The other guys have taken time off for vacations Punk has ONCE for 2 months) and Punk doesn't drown himself in pain pills. He also took harsher bumps excluding R.V.D
@TheTsugnawmi201010 жыл бұрын
This guy was the face of WWE before he left. Fuck Cena. Seriously, this guy was who everyone was talking about. With that said, one _could_ question why he left and say he was too demanding. HOWEVER when you realise that: a) That was one year of his what 5-8 year run with WWE that means nothing especially when people like Cena, HHH, The Rock etc had what Punk had for how many years? And speaking of The Rock, he's a part timer getting bigger pushes than Punk, Bryan and other full-timers simply because "It's all about the mon-ay! It's all about the mon-ay!" The Rock, Lesnar and Batista all got Wrestlemania spots within a year of their part time returns. The Rock vs Cena, The Rock wins the WWE title, The Rock hosts Wrestlemania; Lesnar breaks The Streak; Batista wins the Royal Rumble. Punk demanding a Wrestlemania main event is reasonable when put in context. He was one of the longest reigning WWE champions and the most talked about wrestler in the roster. Why not give him the main event? b) Stone Cold Steve Austin did the same thing but no one dares rip him for it. I said it once and I stand by it, Punk is this era's equivalent of Austin if Cena is The Rock. Outspoken, rebellious and acts like a heel but still a face in the eyes of the fans. c) He wanted creative freedom. The writers for WWE suck. This is a commonly held opinion. Punk wanted to do more than they were thinking up.

So many people complaining about the WWE, but not enough people pushing these indie shows. If you people took even half of the hatred or anger you feel for the WWE and channeled it into backing an indie company, even if it is just something local to you, then you could actually change things. If more people went to indie shows, even if it is a company you have never heard of, then in 5 years, the WWE would have some real competition.
@megamurg10 жыл бұрын
You realize aside from PWG it's incredibly hard to follow an indie company, right? They run venues towns apart and sometimes even states apart, and with no way to keep up on the show because they lack a tv deal how would you really get into feuds? It's much easier to just back the indie wrestlers themselves, find somebody you like buy their shirts follow them on twitter and tell your friends about their stuff. The more actually talented wrestlers that get a little buzz around them the more talented wrestlers that end up on national television. Look at how Sami Calihan, Claudio Castognoli, El Generico, The American Wolves, even D-Bry and punk got to where they are now, Inide Buzz and support from the fans. If you take the time to support good wrestlers, you'll see good wrestling on Mondays.
@9875a10 жыл бұрын
I have no problem with seeing good wrestlers on Monday(though I don't watch WWE anymore), but good wrestlers or not, that doesn't change the company. WWE is, in my opinion, in the shitter, and it has been that way for awhile. No amount of Rock returns and Stone Cold Stunners could save it. What will save it, is taking a different approach with writing. Do like Punk said, build up rivalries, don't just make them appear randomly. In my opinion some of the best wrestling, story wise, was that of the Southern territories. People like Lou Thesz and the von Erichs would have these huge, long rivalries, and they didn't just throw the championship around from this guy to that guy, back to this guy, then to that guy's tag team partner, then the ref's dog, then JR. I feel like modern wrestling seems to jump around far too much in that sense. Just my opinion, though.

He said it himself, this should be Daniel Bryans year, and he's had just about enough of the WWE sidelining Daniel Bryans rise. So he probably feels if he steps out of the picture, they'll finally get it right. He's truly humble, and I respect his decision. And I for one would love to see the guy try his hand at MMA someday. hes gunna debut in ufc and get his fucking ass beat around the ring. maybe he will go to tna after he realizes that ufc wont pan out like he thinks it will. UFC isnt a joke like WWE [has become]. and i think punk is over looking that these guys are fucking tough. some of the toughest in the world. and CM punk said one of the reasons he left wwe was Ryback. he said ryback was "Too Rough" with him bro its wrestling. its all rough. u were in ECW and u call ryback rough? ur a pussy. once cena leaves, we can return to our former glory. #BringBackReyMysterio #RIPEddie #RIPChrisBenoit #BringBackBatista #BringbackTheMonsterKane. kane, rock, stone, taker, chris Benoit, edge, eddie, chavo, heidenreich, finlay, lashley, king booker, hornswoggle, mankind, and all of them were real ass entertainers and knew wtf they were doing. these new rooks have no skill in the ring or on the mic.
@benkelly13408 жыл бұрын
Ryback attacked punk for real in ufc punk can fight these guys back for real I think it speaks a lot of cm punk for being a professional and not snapping and attacking Ryback and yet wwe still treat him like crap.

he didn't take any break for as long as i can remember...so he deserves a long rest..wresling is in his blood for sure he'll be back...
@Digit6410 жыл бұрын
Punk is great for business. That being said, I hope he takes a break for as long as he needs to and when his body is rested enough, he can come back to fans that will greatly appreciate it. Imagine the cheers when he does! I couldn't agree more with Punk when it comes to WWE's "creative" staff. Very wishy washy on story lines. They have failed to capitalize on so many different angles they could have run. It's getting old seeing the same old storylines rehashed again and again. I find that I am watching less and less of it and am turning to watching videos of the old territory days with Mid-South/UWF being my favorite followed by Georgia Championship Wrestling, WCCW, Crockett Promotions and Eddie Graham's Florida Championship Wrestling.
@RedFlameKnight10 жыл бұрын
at least he only said hes taking a break and not done completely..huge cm punk fan, altho its nice to see him speak his mind and stand up to authority figures and leave when hes not happy itll be good when he comes back and hopefully we see another title run sometime soon

hopefully cm punk just takes time off and comes back you could kinda just see it for awhile he just looked tired as hell he is right though he's been wrestling a looooooooooooooooong time even longer than cena has so all this talk about him doing mma i dunno seems kinda late to be trying to get into that i just hope he takes sometime off and rejuvenates and comes back to wwe he can still go i think

434days...... What do we remember bout rock title reign or john cena? And orton title reign has been a disaster
@MrLawris10 жыл бұрын
I think the closest one was Cena with 380(or something) days, but of course records needs to be achieved. And yes 434 days is amazing if you don't compare it with Bruno Sammartino :). All respect to CM Punk!!
@CHBK12310 жыл бұрын
asumi ASU well to be fair, back in Bruno Sammartino's days, the title wasnt frequently defended where as now titles are defended at every PPV and sometimes on RAW or live events so its understandable to have Bruno Sammartino have a longer reign

I don't think he's REALLY leaving, or I kind hope so. I know he must be tired because he's been wrestling for so long and everybody needs a break. So, a break, that's what it is. I'll just believe he truly quit the WWE when CM Punk himself say something. Till there, I will just think he's taking a break.
@TheJaviferrol10 жыл бұрын
Great guy. He is my favourite wrestler of the modern era. I like him and respect him and now much more after watching this. He sounds like a very creative and nice person. I love CM Punk the character and thats why id like him to come back cause of that; but if Phil Brooks wants a rest, i respect his decision. He walked away on his own terms; its not like he was fired
@SUEDUCE10 жыл бұрын
I understand Punk needed a break everybody does, but for Punk to just leave without saying goodbye or letting his fans know something is fucked up! And to me it makes me mad at the fact that he complains about Batista coming in but Punk has had the WWE Championship almost longer than anybody that's a hell of a talent! And he made this era great with the John Lernitius situation it reminded me of Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Vince McMahon. Anyways also How would he would have liked it if Batista left right when he came back and fucked up his debut back? Even other Sports players like Basketball Players have it hard not even touching the spotlight and others get the glory he felt it and knew glory. I hope he comes back though.
@ianardley54310 жыл бұрын
he isnt mad at Batista coming back its the fact he immedietly won one of the biggest events and goes to WrestleMania when others like himself, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler and so many more superstars have been trying all year

I'm sad Punks left, people may complain about how he left and he was being childish, taking his ball and going home n all that. But at the end of the day if you're not happy in your job and you can afford to quit, no ones going to hang around just to make other people happy. Good luck to the guy, I just hope that WWE doesn't take it out on AJ.

I dont blame him for leaving he cant be the only one in WWE thats feeling this frustrated and this exhausted and also not knowing whats next for there character. WWE's booking last year and the start of this year has been terrible its so hard to watch a 3 hour RAW and be interested in even half of it because there's so many filler segments and matches that no one gives a damn about.

xfghkhjfsejid ya if we not in the wwe he's not gonna be anywhere. not until he fully recovers and takes some extended time off. you can tell he's been hurting a lot lately and he's burned out with all this nonsense and i think he just got to a "fuck it" point. he's so hurt and still performing at such a high level and his reward is to wrestle triple h at mania while batista and orton are in the main event? we want the best vs the beard and triple h doesn't care. what was the best match at mania last year. not rock and cena, not lesnar and huh, it was punk and taker, and taker is great but punk carried him for stretches in that match when taker was looking his age. he's the best epic match wrestler the wwe has and theyre friction putting him against triple h, we've seen that song and dance man
