I met him at SXSW! Here’s the story. I was walking around the convention center and I saw him walking towards me. I went up to him and said “I just wanted to say that I’m a huge fan of yours”. I was a kid when he debuted in ECW and immediately he became one of my favorites. He wasn't like anyone else that I had ever seen in wrestling. I loved his straight edge angle and lifestyle and the one of a kind charisma he had. He has the rare ability to capture an audience just as much as a heel and still keep his fanbase as he does a babyface. It's rare to find people who exceed well in both. He is a huge part of why I grew up to became straight edge too. He was a good role model to have as a young teen . I fell out of the wrestling loop as I got older (right before he cut his hair) and returned in adulthood the month he left. So I watched his matches from the past over the years and he is truly one of the most iconic wrestlers. He's up there with Macho Man, Hogan, Andre, Sting, Ultimate Warrior and many others who's name transcended the " sports entertainment" genre and I think his legacy is better off being the way it is. He left at the top, he stuck to his word and didn't come back a month later and I respect that. Of course if he wants to wrestle again I'd love to see him in AEW for a few matches and then maybe a non wrestling return to wwe to be inducted into the hall of fame. WWE doesn't deserve an in ring return of punk ever though and I would much rather see him honor retirement and not be like michaels and taker and run their careers to the ground by trying to wrestle at the risk of their health and safety.

He straight said he's 40 years old and knows how to bury the hatchet. And literally just two days ago he was at Fox Studio's trying out for the talk show "WWE Backstage" that will air on FS1. As for AEW they did something to piss Punk royally off he straight said the Young Bucks are unprofessional in trying to recruit talent and he will not be working with them.
