I bought "Last Song" and "Close Your Eyes" back in '73. Good records.

I know right? I grew up in Lambeth, Ontario, a couple miles southwest of London. I bought all of Edward Bears singles in the early- mid 70s. Man what a time to be a teenager!!! Take care, and good health to you!!!

Just watched this interview for the first time 2024. Larry Evoy came to my High School in 1974 (Ajax High School). I had always been to shy to go to a dance but he was my favorite artist so I had to go! I couldn't dance but I swayed to his music and eventually I was dancing with many girls. It was an amazing night thanks to Larry Evoy! He changed my life that night!

Wow.. .so glad to see this interview...so cool to see this personable interview with Larry. I was 10 when Last Song came out and I still have that 45 today. So cool to relive this band history in this interview.

Great interview! Great Canadian band! I hope to get a hold of Larry's solo album sometime, but it is pretty rare! I was fortunate enough to have a short FB chat with Larry quite a few years ago, just to thank him for the music. Good to see some Edward Bear footage surfacing! 👍🏼

I called Canadian Bear Studio back in 1973, and actually got to talk to Larry Evoy for a few minutes; he was quite gracious, and sent me two autographed 8X10s which I wish I still had.

A captivating voice to say the least...no matter what song Larry sings. I listen to CKDO in Oshawa on my 'Alexa' while living in Costa Rica, and they play an Edward Bear song at least once an hour I believe. These songs make you stop and listen. Great talent, nice gentleman, awesome music! Thanks for the greatest songs Larry. From a 64 year old fan...still.

What a wonderful interview. Larry seems like such a humble guy, despite being an important part of Canadian music history. His legacy of amazing songs is truly remarkable.

Great interview! I never knew before that Edward Bear was a group name, learned quite a bit. I just know that I've always been very fond of the song "Last Song". 1972-early '73 was a year of a lot of great music, and optimism, that degraded rapidly after that. Thanks for posting this, Larry Evoy is quite a talented man! Great memories conjured up for me, from being in the 9th, and 10th grade!

Great interview. Edward Bear was a very underated band among a lot of great canadian bands and singers that came out at that time in the early 1970s following the Guess Who..singers like Tom Northcott Joey Gregoresh Andy Kim bands like the Stampeders Chilliwack April Wine. Great music back then and now.

Thank you, Larry and the rest of Edward Bear. My favorite song from the group was not the most popular of their records. "You, Me and Mexico" came in 1970 in the U.S. I like the others which came in 1973 but not as much. I bought the Bearings album at a record show for less than $3. The seller didn't know who Edward Bear was.

Saw "Edward Bear" at the CNE they opened for Crowbar ...the crowd was very rude to them ...except 17 year old me jumping up and down clapping ...and singing along .. trying to drown out the rude ones just there to hear Crowbar ...Larry was an inspiration to me as in later years I got into music ...keyboards drumming and singing .
