I saw him at the tabernacle in Atlanta ab 5 years ago, and it was not a “concert”by any means. It was an absolute vocal masterpiece inside an old building that rang the notes coming out of his mouth through your soul. All you could do was watch in sheer amazement. He’s a generational talent

Folks... this is country music. And this is the best it's ever been... 1990's... the complete peak of western civilization... we were young, we had this music, and hearts ready for an exciting and hopeful future. Songs like this were in our headphones as we thought about our first crush, or as we drifted off to sleep at our Memaw's house, listening to the AM radio... We go to truly live once upon a time. And this was the soundtrack. Vince is a giant.

What an excellent role model! He sings an old perfect song, keeping it true whilst adding his stamp and giving it a new life and making it more beautiful. Another example is Tennessee Whiskey. Everyone should take note! Especially those that did the tribute to Merle Haggard at Grand Ole Opry. Please respect the old country artist!!

Two singers can bring tears to my eyes just hearing them sing from the soul: David Phelps and Chris Stapleton. Anointed. My wife walked in asking why I was teary-eyed listening to this. Vince Gill brought me to country music in the 80s when this song evoked strong emotion from within me. His voice is so unique. Chris Stapleton is so unique and soulful in a different but even stronger way. I never imagined I would hear this song sang by anyone that would rival and surpass Gill. Simply beautiful. Every time I hear him cover classic songs, he knocks it out of the park.
