CN and CP Action at Bayview Junction, Ontario: 06/09/12

Located along the shore of Lake Ontario between Burlington and Hamilton, Bayview Junction is one of Canada's most popular railfan locations. Both CN and CP send trains through Bayview, and passenger trains from Amtrak, GO, and VIA can be observed as well. In this video, we will see a handful of trains during a four-hour span on Saturday, June 9 2012.

Since it's running under CN trackage, it is given a CN identification. The train would be in the CN RTC computer system as P07031 09. Though over the radio it would typically be referred to as VIA 70.

When Amtrak crosses the border, does everyone get off and go through customs, or is the train pre-cleared before it leaves the last U.S. station?
