On January 6, 2017, CN ran this work train 908 from MacMillan Yard in Vaughan, ON as far as Washago via the York and Bala Subdivisions. Seen here are scenes from the second day of the mission, January 7, where the crew worked on the Newmarket Subdivision from Washago to Mile 155. They would finish their day in Huntsville, where they would resume working northward the next day. The spreader, CN 50948, had reportedly not been used in 10 years, having been stashed away somewhere in MacMillan Yard. With near-continuous lake effect snow off of Georgian Bay for the weeks leading up to this video, combined with the operation of only one train per day in each direction, it became necessary to run the spreader to move back the snowbanks before the snow piled up too far.
