Thank you, Julie, for your feedback. This is our first attempt at doing anything like this (filming, editing, adding annotations, etc.) so your feedback means a lot to me. I'm hoping to do another series on other nursing skills soon.

Checking their arm band is safer than asking their name. I had a patient suffering from Dementia call himself by a totally different name than his own. Lol.

Thank you for this wonderful video gonna do my skills on January 18, this video are very helpful. You really speak clearly, slowly and directly. But According to my teacher we have to ask the resident if he/she wants to use the clothing protector. Because remember resident has the right to refuse. Never call it bib, We use the term clothing protector. And according to my observation if I'm the CNA I need to check the bed if there's a crumbs or there's a piece of food in the bed. Especially if they're not using clothing protector. But over all I love this video thank you so much!

And you my dear, should make a video about how to give feedback. I think you are great at that!!! You're able to give contructive feedback in a polite maner. Your feedback is very kind ánd gives points that could be better ánd in what way. You also start of by telling what is actually good about the video. Haha, sorry for my poor English, but I hope I'm getting my point across. Just wanted to tell you this.

According to the instructor, that is up to the patient. Feeding is normally seen as somewhat of a social event for many patients, but other patients want privacy when someone else is feeding them.

i suggest wether a resident is alert or not i think it's better we should put a cloth protector on them.what do u think?

From the instructor: To answer his question….the client and person feeding them need to sit at eye level. When you are done with any procedure the bed itself is lowered to the lowest position.

Thank you for showing me the correct way to feed a patient. Now I know you don't sit on the patient bed. Always stand or sit face to face.
@samcatcher40333 жыл бұрын
It is not good to stand, you must sit and face client at eye level...always. Because standing can be considered intimidating.

Nothing I've seen in the Nurse's Guide handbook says anything about a bib, so I'd just use my own judgement depending on a particular patient. If it were me being fed, I'd appreciate a bib of some sort--especially if it's tomato soup! :)

Jeff Cook the reason for wiping their hands is for actual real world situation, when you are feeding a resident at a nursing home they will a lot of times try to grab their food with their hands.
