About the series:
It was a legendary trading route that for thousands of years connected Europe with Asia, and ancient Rome with Ancient China. Known as the Silk Road, it stretched through some of the most rugged terrain in the world 2000 years ago.
Now modern China is building a new Silk Road. The New Silk Road, also known as the One Belt One Road plan, is a hugely ambitious initiative launched by Presdent Xi Jinping in 2013. It will link up over 65 countries and 4.4 billion people. That is about 60 per cent of the world’s population.
Channel NewsAsia’s documentary team has travelled across the globe to 7 regions to investigate what the Silk Road means for individuals, companies and countries. The epic journey takes viewers from the future ports of China to naval bases in the Philippines, to safaris in Africa, wushu schools in Iran and ghettos in Greece.
The programme received an Award for Best Documentary (International Affairs) at the New York Festivals.

Muslim Refugees in Abyssinia (Ethiopia) reached Guangdong -Canton- by sea for trade before the Hegira..... Zheng He ( Pronounced as HA) the Ming Dynasty Admiral was a Muslim himself from Kuming, Yunnan.

What they don't tell in this short clip is that Zheng He was Muslim and had many Muslim Chinese advisers in his fleet. So even the dead bodies facing Mecca could be Chinese. The decorated tomb looks like those found in many Muslim countries representing a Sufi Muslim saint shrine or tomb (called Marabou in North Africa)

Why stupid? this hypothesis could make count on it. In my country Indonesia, even though Islam initially spread from Lamuri, Aceh. It did not reach heartland of Java so directly due differences of spheres between Aceh-Malayan and Javanese, and it instead indicating the first iteration of Muslim's presence is over Zheng He's fleet, whose one of them (already a muslim, like Admiral Zheng He himself) staying over and acculturise their sino-perso-muslim culture to and with the locals, yet their burial still stand as a chinese altar.
