My mom was the secretary for the apartments that I grew up in...and she knew lots of people all around the complex. So she'd let me run around freely and have me help with tasks like "Mrs. Culbertson is asking for you to come and feed her cat" ((I loved going to Mrs. Culbertson's house because she always let me water her plants and would have tea and cookies with me)) ... But she ALWAYS knew where I was and what I was up to. Other parents would keep an eye and report in. Plus if my mom was talking to her friend Janice up on the second floor balcony, she could see the entire courtyard and most of the buildings. I was lucky to be able to develop confidence while this little. School kind of squashed my confidence a bit though because of kid bullies, but as an adult I gained it back.

i've seen the Japanese one on Netflix and its really a good way of teaching kids responsibility. Great show

This very common to train children to shop and other tasks because it is still safe in Japan, but unfortunately, unsafe elements are creeping in. From a Concerned grandparent in Japan

I didn't realize that they were hiding the cameras. Surprised those adults didn't stop to try to help the boy crying by himself. I believe that these days, Children aren't allowed to be left alone in public spaces under 12 years where I am (Canada) and I would definitely notice if a kid was alone by themselves for a while. Though my parents allowed me to wander pretty far from my parents at about 7 years and no one was concerned. I think if people tried to do this in Canada, that would be the biggest challenge - preventing all the adults from getting alarmed around the children and trying to call someone like the police or social services to help (I think mainly due to the fear of the child being abducted).

Cant watch the series because the videos are Geo protected. Is there a way to remove that so everyone can watch?

This is good teach children but you cannot do it. In many countries because of all the predators out there prying on children it's a different world we're living in.🌍
