Toys R Us messed up when they signed with Amazon
@fastdollar16 жыл бұрын
Amazon being the kiss of death is kind of a misconception tbh. They messed up by not expanding their web platform beyond Amazon. A good example is Target. They signed with Amazon but were proactive enough to continue to develop their web platform like their in store pick up.

Well some still want boardgames/figures, but if they just scaled down to video games and board games/figures they would be gamestop which is having their own challenges. I believe gamestop has been pulling out of boardgames too just because people who go to gamestop aren't exactly looking for boardgames. I would likely expect to see gamestop's reduction in the near future too as sales are increasingly going digital with decreasing demand to go to a store at all with delivery from amazon, etc.

@debbieparker53776 жыл бұрын
Devin Wofford I live in Tampa Bay area I have yet to find cheaper prices than Wal-Mart, Target is fed cheaper than designer stores like MK not in the same category.
@DevinWofford6 жыл бұрын
Debbie Parker that’s what I’m saying. MK is still a Michael Kors retail store. And target is a discount retail store selling private brands and “partnered brands” like Hunter+Target. As far as cheaper than Walmart yeah with grocery items yeah it’s all based on location I guess. But many times Walmart has something for 9.88 and target has it for 9.99. And that’s the target tax that many people are willing to pay for an, arguably, more pleasant experience. But keep in mind target still price matches and Walmart doesn’t. So you can have the cheapest price at target if you just ask.

Christine Angela I learned about blockbuster from the internet. I was born after it died. Why did I learn it? Because it was an entertaining video. As long as it’s entertaining, people will watch it. And toys r us has an interesting story, so they will watch it and people will remember it.

I wish there was something we can do to bring it back. I had great memories in that store. I cried when I first heard it closed down.

Toys R Us has such a huge selection of toys. Target and Walmart don’t have a toy selection at all it’s so small. I don’t think it should have closed

Sad to see it go. was definitely my favorite place as a kid. Where I used to live you could see the giraffes looking over the wall on the freeway. When I saw them I knew that I was almost there. Truly a sad day

You know, just on Wednesday, my mom took me and a friend of hers to the mall to show her around. And when we were turning to get ready to park, I saw Toys R Us (which is across from the mall and not in it), the store is opened!!

I grew up with ToysRus being a huge part of my childhood to see it go out of business really hits where it hurts the most, I even had my second job at a toysRus at one point, I'm sad it had to close but at the same time I understand why it didnt make it in today's world they where more expensive on somethings not gonna lie I knew that if they had matched other stores earlier on or even slightly cheaper they might of been okay but who knows now

even in Singapore, they wasn't any serious crowd at my nearest outlet at any given weekend. I have seen multiple outlets close down over the years, no surprise if the store would only last 3 to 5 years as the rental taken up most of the profit.
