Please have Dr. Gottlieb on again and let him talk about this drug, and the class of weight loss drugs in general. I would be interested in hearing about benefits for morbidly obese patients rather than the two hosts who do not seem to need this or their friends.

Doctor: Knows the subject matter. Joe & Andrew: Constantly interrupting and interjecting on the guy who knows what he’s talking about, and even on each other. Sigh. 🤷‍♂️ Btw, from the data seen so far, looks like the drug in question (Maritide) will have *significantly better* weight-loss results than the current best ones out there (Wegovy, Mounjaro, etc). If that was still unclear after that trainwreck of a segment. 💥 🚂 🔥

If you overeat …your stomach will pay the price. Where I work …there are now 30 of us on it. I’m on weekly Semiglutide. Down 40 in 13 weeks. On maintenance now. One shot a month given at a weight loss clinic. Cholesterol down from 205 to 165 Food noise in head stopped immediately. Diet Coke addiction gone instantly. Keeping your salt content and protein up is very important. It works. Side effects are bad belly if you overeat. Fatigue when dosing up. 100% believer. Game changer!! You don’t need discipline. Your body will crave healthy foods. Not everyone gets Ozempic face. Not true. Eating big dinners at restaurants are a thing of the past. Don’t want it. You can’t go off this stuff for the weekend. It stays in system for 5 weeks.

@soros Yup. And he was born, raised, and spent his formative years in Ohio.🤷‍♂️ If I moved to, say, Texas, it wouldn’t automagically erase where I was from and how I was raised. Yeah? Joe’s a blowhard ‘cuz he’s Joe, not ‘cuz he works in NYC.

I don't have cable. Are most CNBC guest segments like this, where it's mostly the hosts talking?

Ozempic face occurs to those who took the medication when they weren’t supposed to. They weren’t at the recommended BMI and they also weren’t diabetic. They take the medication to lose another 10-15 lbs when they barely have a gut.

He man who is ‘thinking about food’ is in shape precisely because he is conscious about what he eats and when. He is not insulting others - staying in shape takes work and involves making the right choices, especially as we age.

Rather than suppressing appetite, I'd like it if they came up with something which tripled my resting metabolic rate so that I could eat junk food without getting fat. You'd think that this would be *easier* than suppressing appetite: like, inject some mRNA which causes the body to produce proteins which do something harmless but very energy-intensive.

There was something like that in the old days, called DNP. It killed a lot of ppl (‘cooked ‘em from the inside out’), and so was banned in 1938. Yes, really. 😬

That sounds like a heart rate that might get too high, leading to heart attacks, or at a minimum, a constant tired person.

People need $1000+ injections to reduce appetite because they can’t just put the burger and fries down. Healthy food can taste good and be satisfying and doesn’t cost $1000s….

‘Eat less, move more’. Yeah, most obese ppl have already *tried* that. MANY times. Result? They either didn’t lose the weight, didn’t lose *enough* weight, or lost the weight but later gained it BACK. 😟 Some ppl just need more help. Especially with the awful ultraprocessed and fast food that’s *everywhere* nowadays.

Obesity is a disease. The science has been proven. Sure, there are extreme cases where there’s gluttonous behavior. But there are plenty of examples where someone can do all of the right things and still yo-yo diet their entire lives. Insulin resistance can make it a nearly impossible battle without medicinal assistance.
