I totally agree; I am 54 years old, recently retired, with approximately $1.2 million in external retirement funds. I am debt free and have very little money in retirement funds compared to the total value of my portfolio over the past three years. I have a 3 fund portfolio consisting of 33% S&P, 33% Total stock, and 33% international. I feel a need to focus on complete growth so I went 100% stocks, but does the SP500 and TSM overlap too much to make sense holding both? However I’ve been in the red for a month now. Bad Move. If you take a look at where the market was in 2021 all major indexes not counting the DOW which is only a small fraction of the economy are just marginally up the market has been stagnant from 2021-2023 with a few pullbacks. Its a good time to buy now especially after another decent pullback in April. The run up is just getting started and the market is always bullish during election cycles. AI will continue to push the market up.
