Jim Hoffa Jr allowed things in that last contract that were way too beneficial to UPS. Such as two-tier driver pay. I'm assuming he was bought and paid for in some way. It's pretty obvious that the old Teamster leadership was failing us.

Nothing in this new contract has been upheld either besides the pay. Same horrible treatment. Cameras still in vehicles, no air conditioning, constantly looking to fire people, 2.2.4's were supposed to be changed to fulltime yet they still get put in the warehouse instead of driving. Nothing is different.

What they should be doing is training people to manage the automation. What happens is they lay people off, post an automation engineer or maintenance technician job. It never gets filled because they can't find anyone qualified personal or the job doesn't pay enough Then the employer complains that people don't want to work. I'm for automation as long as the company trains the employees into maintaining the system that's going to take their jobs.

Why didn't you ask why were covid earnings during lock down treated like normal projected earnings when they were anything but and you padded those numbers by getting rid of multiple departments (including HR, wouldn't want to discuss why now would ya?!?) to continue the numbers lie, and eventually, here we are contract year and poor UPS has no money and has to shut facilities and "layoff" thousands of employees. Sounds like an integrity issue to me, but what do I know?

The only way they can cut hours on the labor side (the union side) is to hire more people. There is a massive amount of work that needs to get done everyday. Drivers can’t just bring an unfinished route back to the building at 5pm to cut cost. Loaders can’t just load half of the volume then go home to cut hours. The only people that can get laid off or hours cut without affecting the work getting done is management (non union)

Yes it is a good contract. I'm a full-time teamster and I've worked there for 25 years My wage has actually outpaced inflation. I'm making about $12000 more per year with this new contract than I should be based on inflation.

They don’t respect seniority they only care about there money, we don’t have family and children? after all these years you wanna cut my hrs in to half.. idk why the union is taking so long to address this matter.. they had their plans after we got the raise in the new contract. I’m going to see how long this will take before I get my back pay..!

If you have people below you working and youre not you need to go to your steward and if that doesn’t work go to your business agent. You are guaranteed 8hrs. File grievances.

Yes, if you have someone below you working or a supervisor working, you get paid what they worked. Also, if they don't pay you, file another grievance to get paid an additional 4 hour penalty pay and file that grievance every week for an additional 4 hour penalty pay for every week. It got up to 100 hours in just penalty pay, but they had to pay it along with the hours the supervisor worked.

I’m filing grievance like crazy, daily. supervisors sending you home and they are working.. so much violation also I am a air driver they took all my air work and give it to regular drivers, and have me working 4.5 hrs daily inside then shuttle. This company do whatever they want union or not. It’s been over a month now the union is overwhelmed with grievances with just the building I work alone so I guess it’s going to be a very long wait. While I’m not able to support my family and that is what ups want you to do is quit. Sickening company I would never recommend someone to work here, you might see us out there driving these brown trucks well dresses in brown, trust me it’s only because we are already in so deep why we stick around it’s a horrible company to work for. We are not ok.

Yes I know I’m guaranteed 8hrs, and you know after 5hrs you have to get 8 even if they send you home but the suckers make sure the watch me every day so I don’t reach 5 and then the sups take ever so much work no workers. I went to the business agent for my center. He is saying take that for own and make sure I’m filling the grievances, like how is that helping me? That’s what I pay union dues for? For you to tell me take what they give me for over a month now with no pay out!

Investing in automation is a requirement (in my opinion) to keep the company sustainable in the long term. It's unfortunate that there will be certain jobs eliminated, but automation also creates some higher skill/pay jobs as well (e.g. techs/engineers to maintain the equipment and troubleshoot when there are problems, project managers to implement new automation, etc.)

@@unicornheartsIt’ll be a good 20 years before delivery drivers are automated. At least UPS and FedEx, we handle too much bulk shipments and high cost valuables for a robot to handle. Plus, the tech isn’t there yet. It’ll probably happen eventually, but not for a while.

UPS is hemorrhaging accounts like never before. And are now holding back certain ZIP Codes in “rural” areas that are dense with deliveries two days per week. Including medical shipments! It’s past time to get new leadership. Someone that recognizes shippers and receivers as the customers instead of stockholders who are only in it for dividends.

I might or might not be employed by UPS. I do know everybody within the company dislikes her. She’s done a terrible job as ceo, and is completely incompetent. She’s made terrible implementations within the company. Touch screen Diads is just one example. They’re shiny but inefficient and have cost the company a large amount of dollars. She sucks. Would you show up if you get kicked off the clock as soon as you get there, or only work 3.5 hours a day because management thinks “guarantee” means “maximum?” Some sorts only work 2-3 hours a day and they don’t even know they’re supposed to get guaranteed hours. This is all easy for you to say after you just retired. You’ve been with the company long enough to be full time and not care about part time plebs who make less an hour doing the same work. That was all UPS’ design in the 80s. They created two tiers inside and made most of the inside workers part time so they could pay them less.
